The Barça goalkeeper stated that "I want to win every trophy that comes our way" and did not want to discuss a possible renewal with the club.
Wojciech Szczesny (34) is enjoying a great run at Barça and wants to finish the season on a high by winning the Champions League, LaLiga, and the Copa del Rey, a treble that would add to the already assured success of the Spanish Super Cup. The Pole expressed this in Dortmund after being asked if he was considering renewing his contract with the Blaugrana beyond the current campaign.
"It's not something I'm thinking about too much. We only have important games until the end of the season, and I want to focus on playing the best football possible. I don't want to waste energy negotiating contracts or thinking about my future. I want to win every trophy we have ahead of us and leave the contractual situations to the club and my agents. There's a chance they're talking, but I don't want to know," Szczesny concluded.
The Polish goalkeeper recalled that "a few months ago I was on the beach and didn't want to play football, and now I'm playing for what I believe is the best team in Europe," a situation that still seems "surreal" to him, but one he wants to make the most of.
"It would have been impossible for me to think about winning these important competitions after retiring, but now I'm here and I don't want to accept any other fate. I want to win big trophies, and I'm getting closer to fulfilling my dream of winning this particular competition. This is closer than ever. I want to focus on these final weeks to ensure we do something important for the club and for us," Szczesny concluded.
