Adapting & Adjusting To The New norm...
Okay just few months ago I moved to this new city, to commence my national service, which is like a compulsory thing in my country for all fresh graduate to serve the country and to serve as a federal uniting Agent in different geographical location of the country, if you know Nigeria well enough you will understand that the country uniting together despite its multi-cultural, Ethnic, different tribes and tongues is a thing of concern so at such to create a new peace-front for this unity to be sustain youths from all her higher institutions are posted all over the country to mingle together fostering peace and unity and to let this mindset grow with them being the new face of Nigeria...
I'm from the southern part of Nigeria, and I was posted to the East, altho i wanted to serve in the western part of Nigeria... Well that didn't work out so here I am...
Well? Be it has it may, of course I am an adventurer, I love travelling and site seeing, go places and mingle with the people there, see and live life from their perspective, their different cultures, traditions, food, lifestyles etc, I just want to be adventurous, Experiment and explore....
As much as i was willing to breath in the fresh air, I wasn't ready for what was coming, yeah things and the cost of living generally in Nigeria has taking a different toll, but I feel here is the epicentre of that change, things and cost of living in the east is super hiked.
Okay this is Enugu state, it's capital is ENUGU as well, it's a historical state, derived it's name from it's geographical location and also known as "The Coal City" cause a huge deposit of coal was discovered here long long time ago, it's a city on a hill, the name was translated from the igbo language ENU meaning Top and Gu meaning hill, so it's a city untop of the hill, the terrain here include hills and valleys and rough earth, it's a beautiful city to explore but then the cost of living is something else....
Alright so as I said earlier I easily would fit in, as it's my manner anywere i go as an adventurer I adjust and adapt, so it's easy, I wasn't caught up for this but then this is life everyday presents itself to you with different task and assignments, the more you face them and level up the more you are ready for even greater adventure and challenges.
There are a lot of ups and downs in this city, a lot of people especially fellow corpers like myself coming to the city new and discovering a different lifestyle From what they have known, so they complain a lot, worries, talks etc, yeah I too do that unconsciously or maybe to just feel as part of the flow in a conversation but then right inside me, I just love the pace, the newness, the fresh air, the people, the serenity of the city, captivated by the wealth distribution here,
more like younger generation have more weath in their hands which is something invigorating for me, it's a city that challenges You to double up, you've got to get up and be ready to hustle, everything challenges me, or maybe it's from my own perspective that I see these things differently. ..or maybe I have adjusted and adapted.
