The Summer Home
“I don’t even know what we’re doing here,” said Miriam lying back on the soft couch that made her feel as if she was floating on water. Her father had been meticulous with the design of the house, and he had been insistent on the “floating” couch. “Those are your father’s last wishes,” said her mother. “Dad wanted his ashes scattered in the sea, but we don’t have his ashes thanks to the Navy ...

ENG.ESP. Shopping for Time
📸 Shopping for Time Alice had a guilty pleasure: getting lost in the city's docks, exploring every nook and cranny of the old fishmongers' quarters, which were passed down from generation to generation and seemed that, through some kind of magic, they could sell the same faded fish every day. Alice loved walking back and forth, entering the old bookstores with the same old books and picking through a dusty pile to purchase a copy for a few coins. The waterfront neighborhoods were forgotten by many, although they were part of everyone's life in the city in one way or another, especially since it was the only available way from the historic part to the new part, which was still undergoing continuous renovations; old buildings gave way to modern shopping malls, flat and modern apartments, and numerous offices. Alice lived almost on the border between the old and the new, something she really enjoyed and which had made her allergy to dust a curse ...

🇪🇸|🇬🇧 Jairo y el Gigante Invisible | Cuento • Jairus and the Invisible Giant | Story

Paying tax is inevitable but not worthy
The economic condition of a country is very important, and depending on the economic condition, the development of a country can be understood. TAX is one of the great sources of funds that comes from the people. The amount is huge, and that's why the government always encourages or otherwise forces people to pay taxes on time. As a citizen of a country, paying taxes is our responsibility, and I think it's important also because it plays an important role in our national economy ...

Exploring 5 Hz Theta Brain Waves, Consciousness, Shamanism, and Neurotheology - Bhagavad Gita ch4:39
Modern explorers of consciousness have been able to use scientific tools and measurements to better understand the brain and thus human nature. The ability to bridge the gap between science and spirit or psyche or consciences in recent years is really exciting because all parties involved really learn from each other. We're all approaching the same item called consciousness in different ways. More strangely, we are the very thing that we are observing and measuring ...

The Unraveling of a Business and a Way of Life
Continuing to dismantle my once thriving beachcombing business, I am now getting down to the dregs at the bottom of the barrel. As I turn these last bits into suitable items to sell on eBay, I can't help but reflect on the massive amount of work I put into getting this to actually be a workable way to make a living. Orange sea glass — the rarest and most valuable In that sense, I miss it. In more than one sense I am sad that I'm ending this particular chapter ...

Homegrown Spinach Alfredo and Baby Back Ribs - by Sunscape
I picked another round of fresh spinach from the garden towers in the greenhouse to make Alfredo for a side dish to the baby back ribs. I simmered the ribs on the stove for 1 1/2 hours before marinating them with a jar of Jalapeno Cowboy Candy that I made last fall. It is a wonderful sauce for any pork or chicken dish. While the ribs were finishing under the broiler I prepared the Alfredo sauce ...

Which Way?
What a beautiful day this Saturday is… We’ve got quite a bit of wind occasionally but overall plenty of sun and close to 20 degrees Celsius at noon. I love this type of weather and that’s why I spent most of it out. I ate out, sun bathed a bit and then went for a walk. I done my daily walk in a town near by ...

Come and meet this little town in Andalusia that is in the sights of investors [Eng - Esp]
English Come and meet this little town in Andalusia that is in the sights of investors Good morning dear community, this time I take you for a walk to Estepona, a town in the region of Andalusia which is located west of Marbella, quite close to Gibraltar. It is a town that is growing quite fast and that its visitors and the natives of the region come to compare with Marbella. For those who do not know, Marbella is a little bit the “Ibiza” of the Spanish peninsula. An area that stands out for its summer parties, that is expensive, that has a beach, but at the same time has a touch more familiar than Ibiza ...

Monomad 📷 On the way to a concert
Today's monomad challenge post is about the Dilhan Sesen concert in Istanbul and the photos I took on the way. She is a musician who makes indie/jazz songs, and in this concert she sang her songs with a guitarist featuring her. Most of the songs in her setlist created a strange sense of peace with the soft effect of her vocals. About seventy people came to the concert on the roof of a pub in Kadıköy ...
The challenge of the posed portrait-Monomad challenge (ENG-ESP)
ENGLISH Staged portraits aren't really my thing. In fact, I don't usually use artificial light or anything like that, but sometimes you have to do them, and the more skills I learn, the more well rounded I become. A friend asked me to take some portraits because he's participating in a music festival, and they're asking for a "decent photo". We improvised a bit because we took them at his place, and in his own words, his house is "awful" ...
