I was In a similar discussion with someone yesterday..
You are very right ma. People often exchange the word joy with happiness. But joy is that inner satisfaction we find even when things are not working well. That inner satisfaction always tells us that we are good to go. Happiness, on the other hand, is temporal and emotional. It can come for a while and also go in a little while. So we can’t attach our happiness to something, or else we get ourselves affected in many areas of our life.
