A Daily Word In French (#Day 22.)

Good day friends and my fellow french learners! i wish you all an amazing week ahead of you.
I just need you to lend me bout 3 minutes of your precious time so i can teach you a new French word quickly. You have all the willingness in the world to actually ignore if you are too busy and that is because my French lesson for you is all about freedom so as a teacher i have to explain what i teach also by real life example if possible.
Today’s French word is a very powerful one and i call it LIBERTÉ, it is just 7 lettered but i bet we already know why it is so powerful even at that. In English, liberté means freedom. I bet we all love freedom, no one of us is an enemy to freedom, Liberte is so good that we dont want to be on the opposite side which is BONDAGE, CAPTIVITY, IMPRISONMENT, and so on.
You will hear this word often if you read the French history, politics and even in everyday conversation. It is also one of the famous words from the French national motto: Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité which means Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood so you see that freedom is not just a word or a desire but it is a strong and big part of the French way of life and history. They fought hard for LIBERTE.

The pronunciation is simple, It sounds like lee-ber-tay with a straight tune and accent not really rising or falling and one important thing to notice is the letter E at the ending you see it looks kina special, in French we call it accent, pronounced like arck-son, ACCENTS are marks to indicate someing special in the word or change of sound, Fraternité this particular accent on the é is called accent aigu.

Example sentences are easy to understand:
Nous Aiment la liberté
We love freedom
j'aime = i love
Je veux la liberté
I want freedom.
La liberté est importante
Freedom is important.

Words like this remind us that language is not only about communication, like i said earlier the French is very inclined and engrossed into their culture and history such that it reflects deeply on how they speak which is the language, that's why i chose the one we can all relate with and also remember.
