The Crochet Obsession - Slow Going On The Big Project
Greetings friends.
Sometimes simple projects take ages. Being tired doesn't help much either. Can't sleep at night, can't stay awake during the day, doing too much and getting nothing done. Maybe it is just all the planning and failing that's getting to be exhausting. Don't mind me, I am just rambling again. We are here for crafty crochet arty...stuff, right?
Pretty enough but not what I wanted.
As mentioned in my previous post, I have started a new crochet project, which at first, seemed simple enough. The first part already proved to be annoying as there were no spider web patterns available that matched exactly what I was seeing in my mind. Go figure. I will fully get into my misadventures in creating my own spider web once I am done making the million little bits that'll eventually go into the final project, which I will upload fully with all the steps and details. This is more of a preview. Behind the scenes if you will.
The finished web part, which is much uglier than the lacey one made from the pattern I found online. The shape of it is exactly what I wanted though and I am expecting that once all is assembled, it'll look much better than the prettier web, which would have distracted from the overall design.
The web pictured here is currently held up by tape but will have a better finish and proper...err...thingies for hanging once done. (Haven't figured out that part yet)
One of two spiders to make, probably the fifth attempt and a heavily altered pattern, but I finally managed to get it just right. It be posed and possibly reinforced using a combination of sewing, hidden wire or maybe even more hot glue, depending on which issues I run into during final assembly.
A few of the skulls that'll also be part of the final piece, these were actually fun to make and didn't make me struggle to much.
Now, it definitely does not look like much yet, but I have some hopes for this project. I still need to figure out how to make too many roses, vines that curl just right, perfect leaves and probably tons of thons to go onto it all. Then I need to hope the hot glue reinforcements on the web hold up so it doesn't all just become a pile of mess. At least it is less stressful than the job hunt.
Well that's it for now. Till next time!

This is very creative, the spider and skulls look good. Well done ✅
Thank you very much. I am going to try to make the rest today. The spider took ages to get right.
Great creativity
