Hi there. How are you? I hope you are doing great. Welcome to my short diary for Friday, May 30, 2025!

My Friday started with performing the Fajr prayer in the mosque. On returning home, I recited Surah Al Kahf. I finished the whole Surah in one sitting. Then, I slept for a second round and woke up after 8 am. After having breakfast, I did some house chores. I basically looked after the newborn, and my wife did the cooking!

After 11:45 am, my elder son and I went to the mosque to attend the Jummah prayer. The prayer ended in one hour. After lunch, I took a pretty long afternoon nap. In the afternoon, I worked on the laptop for a while.

In the evening, we went out in our car. We visited three shopping centers and purchased a good number of items. We returned home after 9:30 pm.

After having a light dinner, I worked on the laptop again. I couldn't walk on the treadmill on Friday. Hence, I only did 8792 steps, according to the Fitbit app!

Are you suffering from Psoriatic arthritis?

Psoriatic arthritis is one form of arthritis. In the general population, fewer than 1% of people suffer from this condition. However, it is often linked to an autoimmune and non-curable skin condition called psoriasis. Around 30% of the people with psoriasis may develop arthritis alongside and are termed as psoriatic arthritis! Let us learn about some of the features of this condition from a short video by the Cleveland Clinic (Video link is at the end of this post).

• Joint pain and swelling
• Psoriasis skin patches on the scalp, elbows, knees, back, and buttocks
• Pain at the site of ligament or tendon attachment to the bones, called enthesitis. The most common site of enthesitis is the back of the heel (at the attachment of the Achilles tendon).
• Swollen fingers and toes due to inflammation, called dactylitis.
• Stiffness of the joints, more marked in the morning.
• Yellow or brown discoloration of the nails. There may be pits on the nails, or the nails may become thick. Often, the nails may separate from the underlying nailbed. 8 out of 10 people with psoriatic arthritis develop some form of nail changes.
• Experiencing fatigue
