Oh, boy you are wrong...LOL...I am not Catholic, though I do go to the local Cathedral almost daily to pray in the presence of the Lord.
I am in process of becoming Catholic and yes the Holy Spirit has led me here despite my struggles with my conclusion that the Roman Catholic church is the way to best win this spiritual battle we are having in this Earth we live.
I never even knew that there are 24 Catholic Churches in total with essentially the Orthodox Churches in the East and the Latin church (Roman Catholic) in the West.
As far as @jongolson how can someone not love this guy?
I am quite sure our discussions will continue respectfully and with love.
God is Spirit and can only be worshiped in Spirit and Truth. Is there truth outside of the scripture?
Obviously, but when I found out there were 73 books and epistles in the Catholic Bible and there are many books discussing the process of how they were chosen it blew my mind.
How did Martin Luther determine which books to set apart?
He, one man alone, believed they did not align with his understanding of biblical doctrine. His decision questioned the canonicity and inspiration of these books, creating a lasting impact on the Protestant Bible.
Sola Scriptura? We Christians cannot even agree on what is the Bible.
We are blessed to have a platform to discuss our knowledge of God and the Bible.
As far as Sola Scriptura? Where exactly in the Bible does it say "Sola Scriptura" and ignore, for example, apparitions of the Virgin Mary? I am pretty sure there is no mention of this in the Scriptures.
Oh wow, my apologies lol I assumed catholic membership. My bad!
But yeah the truth is what will be revealed. It's not our jobs to 'convert' others. Our job is to show His character and be the light of the world....Easier said than done lol
Appreciate the discussion always.
Oh wow, there's another thing we can talk about....73 books or 66? ;)
