When Symptoms Persist, Consult Your Doctor

A sick person's hope is that he gets better and possibly recovers fully. He receives medications, it helps him and he takes it regularly so as to Keep getting relief. Some weeks later, he notices that the drug seems to not be working, he continues taking it but soon he realises that it no longer helps with his symptoms.

This occurs quite commonly, for some ailments, the drug needs to be changed while for others, the dose needs to be increased, yet for some others still what is needed is a combination with other drugs. For Some ailments, this was a general experience leading to adoption of changes worldwide to make things better for all.

What's the key to finding the solution? Seeing your doctor and seeing him/her early.

It's actually a terrifying experience to have and initially it comes with some confusion and uncertainty as to whether a solution will be found or if this becomes the status quo.

Sometimes the cause of this is when an individual abuses a drug, taking it as he wishes, for some, it is an expected outcome due to the chronicity of the symptoms. Another cause of this is when an individual has been taking a medication even when it was not needed, a good example of this is antibiotics.

Which is why it is important to take drugs according to the Doctor's prescription, because abuse can be very expensive.

A lot of people abuse antibiotics, especially in my environment. They attribute all symptoms to a bacterial infection. This is worsened by the drug sellers who are eager to make sales even by capitalising on the ignorance of the public. When an individual has malaria, they advise him to also treat typhoid then proceed to sell antibiotics if the person agrees.

Consequently, people are always treating typhoid even when they have never had typhoid. Exposing themselves to antibiotics and the risk of antibiotics resistance.

I rarely take drugs except when absolutely necessary. And even then, I try to treat the illness and not just symptoms because that's the best way to treat illnesses and achieve recovery where possible.
Because of my attitude to drugs, I have not taken any drug long enough to say that my body adapted.

What hope does humanity have if every illness continues to evolve like this?”

As usual, it falls on the health workers to come to the rescue of humanity just as it has always been.
Many adjustments has been made over the years and it will continue to be so. Sometimes, even if an illness didn't become stubborn and the body didn't adapt to the illness, there is still work going on to ensure that treatment becomes better.

That is the reason why health workers should be revered in society, respected and given special treatment from time to time for their role and not only to disturb them in times of need as is the culture currently.
