Receive a big greeting from me, friends of architecture and design, I wish you the best at the beginning of this week.

Today I share with you images of the Catholic church Perpetual Help, located in the city of San Cristobal, Tachira state in Venezuela and that I took some time ago when I accompanied one of the priests of Barquisimeto to that place to carry some orders. It was a short two-day trip but I made the most of it to get to know some places of interest in the area, where we were touring to make the deliveries.

This temple, erected in the heart of the city, I only knew it from photographs and Instagram videos when they broadcast the masses, but when you arrive and contemplate it in person is another thing.

The temple consists of a very tall central tower accompanied by two smaller towers on both sides. All of them end in high peaks with a gothic style with some variations.

The facade is made of reinforced concrete covered with granite and clay tablets that give it a very striking color, with many architectural details that give it a lot of beauty wherever you look.

This temple belongs to the Redemptorist missionaries, religious that are distributed between Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador, having its main headquarters in Bogota and in Venezuela its headquarters is in Barquisimeto, where I provide my services.

Upon entering the temple we observe a variety of blue, pink and yellow colors in columns, beams and also in the gable roof slab, generating a nice view and serving as access to the beautiful altar that is seen in the background.

All the floors of the central nave are covered with ceramic tiles decorated with different colors and designs depending on the environment where they are located. In the central aisle the predominant color is brown and the rest of the floor is dominated by a design of white ceramics with dark patterns and green borders.

The luminaires are beautiful pendant lamps in the form of a woven metal basket that rests from the top of the ceiling and contains eight bulbs spread out in an octagonal shape.

It has in its lateral facades striking stained glass windows with representations of the history of the Virgin of Perpetual Help which is an invocation of the Virgin Mary, who gives her name to the temple.

On the right side are the confessionals beautifully worked with carved wood and with many details in the same style of the naves.

Each element that is part of this sanctuary is thought and strategically placed to fulfill a particular function.

It has several entrances that connect the towers with each other, protected by large black wrought iron railings, which complement the design of the facades.

I missed taking close-ups of the altar, but I didn't have time because we left the temple very quickly. However, the images show that it is a building built with a very beautiful architectural design, with bright colors and very elegant and preserved details that make it a very special place.

Un paseo por la iglesia Perpetuo Socorro en Táchira-Venezuela

Reciban un gran saludo de mi parte, amigos de arquitectura y diseño, les deseo lo mejor en este inicio de semana.

Hoy les comparto imágenes del templo católico Perpetuo Socorro, ubicado en la ciudad de San Cristóbal, estado Táchira en Venezuela y que las tomé hace un tiempo cuando acompañé a uno de los sacerdotes de Barquisimeto hasta ese lugar a llevar unas encomiendas. Fue un viaje corto de dos días pero lo aproveché al máximo para conocer algunos sitios de interés de la zona, por donde estuvimos recorriendo para hacer las entregas.

Este templo, levantado en pleno centro de la ciudad, solo lo conocía por fotografías y videos de Instagram cuando transmiten las misas, pero al llegar y contemplarlo en persona es otra cosa.

El templo está formado por una torre central muy alta acompañado por dos torres mas pequeñas a ambos lados. Todas terminan en elevadas puntas con un estilo gótico con algunas variantes.

La fachada es de concreto armado revestido de granito y tabletas de arcilla que le confieren un colorido muy llamativo, con muchos detalles arquitectónicos que le dan mucha belleza por donde se le mire.

Este templo pertenece a los misioneros redentoristas, religiosos que están repartidos entre Venezuela, Colombia y Ecuador, teniendo su sede principal en Bogotá y en Venezuela su casa matriz está en Barquisimeto, lugar donde presto mis servicios.

Al entrar al templo observamos una variedad de colores azul, rosado y amarillo en columnas, vigas y tambien en la losa de techo a dos aguas, generando una agradable vista y sirviendo de acceso al precioso altar que se ve al fondo.

Todos los pisos de la nave central están revestidos con cerámica decoradas de diferentes colores y diseños dependiendo del ambiente donde se encuentran. En el pasillo central el color predominante es el marrón y en el resto del piso predomina un diseño de cerámicas blancas con dibujos oscuros y bordes verdes.

Las luminarias son hermosas lámparas colgantes en forma de cesta tejida de metal que descansa desde lo alto del techo y contiene seis bombillos repartidos en forma exagonal.

Tiene en sus fachadas laterales llamativos vitrales de colores con representaciones de la historia de la virgen del perpetuo socorro que es una advocación de la virgen Maria, quien le da nombre al templo.

AL costado derecho se encuentran los confesionarios hermosamente trabajados con madera tallada y con muchos detalles del mismo estilo de las naves.

Cada elemento que forma parte de este santuario está pensado y estrategicamente colocado para cumplir una función con particular.

Tiene varios accesos que comunican las torres entre si resguardados por grandes rejas de hierro forjado de color negro, que complementan el diseño de las fachadas.

Me faltó tomar acercamientos en el altar pero no me dio tiempo porque salimos muy rápido de ese templo. Sin embargo, las imágenes muestran en su conjunto, que es una edificación construida con un diseño arquitectonico muy hermoso, con vistosos colores y detalles muy elegantes y conservados que lo convierten en un verdadero monumento religioso.
