🌾 Čigoč – the village of storks and the heart of Posavina
Good morning dear Friends and Photography Lovers 🙌📸
Today I will show you some of the photos taken in 2016 in the village of Čigoč, a famous place in my country that is engaged in rural tourism. It is most famous because Čigoč is home to hundreds of white storks that come to nest on the roofs of wooden houses every year. Nowhere else in Europe will you see such closeness between humans and these noble birds. A walk through the village, with the clinking of beaks and the panorama of wooden houses, is a unique experience.
Located along the banks of the Sava River, in the heart of the Lonjsko Polje, Čigoč is not just a village – it is a true fairy tale of nature, culture, and the coexistence of people and birds. Here, in the first European stork village, tradition and nature go hand in hand, and every house tells its own story.
Besides being a paradise for bird and nature lovers, Čigoč is also a great starting point for exploring the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park. Whether you choose to walk, cycle or bird watch from the lookout, you will experience one of the last preserved wetland landscapes in Europe.
Be sure to bring your camera - the scenes from Čigoč will remain in your memory for a long time. And when you get hungry, there are local specialties from the local cuisine that will provide you with a true gastronomic pleasure.
On the way out, in the evening, you can't miss the sunset on the Sava River, which stretches through the entire village. And not only through Čigoč, but through many beautiful villages of Posavina.
💚 Visit Čigoč – a place where nature, tradition and hospitality live in perfect harmony!
That's all for today, dear friends, tomorrow I will show you some of the traditions of Posavina and their antiquities. The first set of photos was taken back in 2016 with a Nikon CoolPix L840, and the second with a Nikon D750, and today I can see a huge difference in quality between the two.
So, see you Tomorrow!
