Updates on Hive Roshambo, The 1v1 Rock-Scissor-Paper Mini Game with Real Hive on The Line

Building Hive Roshambo over these last few weeks has been an incredible journey, and I’ve learned so much from everyone who has jumped into the Arena so far. As a solo developer, my goal has always been to create something that feels fast, fun, and deeply integrated into the Hive community we all love.

Hive Roshambo is my personal project to bring the classic game of Rock Paper Scissors directly to the Hive blockchain. It’s an on-chain arena where you can challenge friends or strangers to high-stakes (or just for fun) matches, all with the transparency and speed of Hive. Lately, I've been focusing on the small friction points that can sometimes get in the way of a quick game. That started with how we get into the Arena. While Hive Keychain is fantastic, I wanted to make sure there was always a backup that works across all your devices, so I’ve integrated HiveSigner. It was important to me that whether you're on your phone or at a friend's computer, you have a reliable path to start a match without any setup hurdles.

Once I smoothed out the entry, I started thinking about how we share those 'did that really just happen?' moments. Winning a high-stakes match is a rush, and it shouldn't be hard to let your friends know. I’ve added a simple sharing tool that lets you grab a link to your match, either to show off a finished game or to send a direct challenge to a rival. It’s a small addition, but it’s one I’ve been wanting to get right for a while now.

Finally, I wanted to make the Arena feel more alive, even when the app is closed. I’ve set up a dedicated bot, roshambo.app, to post real-time social notifications. By using comments, every match now creates a small ripple on the blockchain. All of comments has declined rewards by default. It’s my way of making sure that when the Arena is buzzing, the whole Hive ecosystem can see the action.
