I remember this very clearly and that's just human for you. One thing I have learnt from people is that they come up with terrible stories about you when they can't see through you.
It's left for you to decide on what's next and this is the reason why I don't mingle much, I hate gossip.

Am glad I didn’t get angry too much and reply them as they want and anything that would make me look like a bad person I would rather stay away from it
