As One Thing Ceases,

So begins another.

I've been thinking a lot about change and beginnings and endings a lot here lately. Yesterday, I took my last final and finished up with my school year. That in and of itself feels like an accomplishment, especially because I have been deathly ill every winter for the past three years. But even more than that, my life is getting ready to transition in the most out of the box sort of ways, and I honestly am so burnt that I am riding the wave like a character out of *Dazed And Confused. *

In the upcoming months, everything about how I have lived for the past two decades is shifting. I am moving to the wilderness, my daughter is moving into my house, my son is shipping out to serve our country, for the first time in my life I won't be caring for children, teaching, homesteading on a large scale, or caring for the multitude of people I tend to and have tended to on a daily basis. The thought of it all is slightly overwhelming at times, so I have decided to just be. To just go through it without doing my traditional fretting, planning, and scheming as I try to make it all work and keep my head above water.

I'm most likely halfway through my life. The first half was a learning-fest of greatness, pain, joy, and unrelenting growth. This second half I am going to do my best to apply all of that hard earned knowledge and wisdom in the service of others while also being mindful of how easily service can be damaging to oneself without temperance. We shall see how it goes.

Around the farm the signs of growth, emergence, and new beginnings are all around me. The snow peas are emerging. The potatoes are popping out to say hi! The garlic has surpassed all other cultivars in showing off just how magnificent something can emerge in the spring. Everything is just going and growing.

Which is what I shall be doing soon, and my friends, I gotta admit, it's pretty exciting! I feel like I have finished one race and am now getting ready to start another, only I have no idea where I am going and am armed only with what I have learned thus far.

It's gonna be a trip!

And as most of the time, all of the images in this post were taken on the author's most magnificently pensive and never at all offensive iPhone.

The experience of starting something fresh is always emotional. I could remember the first day I headed off from house to live separately because of school. How about when I had to start my new business. Keep the composure and expect every budding to work to your favor.

Oh you have gone through many adventures of discomfort and growth it sounds like, and I love the way you stated ,"expect every budding to work in your favor." Letting yourself bloom is glorious!!
