Kicked in the head

Nebbwpoq97861.JPG

Have you ever been kicked in the head? I have and can attest to it hurting quite a lot; it left me feeling out of sorts, headachey and worried that the few brain cells I have up there may have packed up and buggered off for good...no worries though, I still have a handful left and that's all I seem to need to live the amazingly abundant, enjoyable, meaningful and happy life I have.

Life is hard, anyone who says it's not hasn't lived enough of it or is a fucken wanker.

Things happen that hurt us emotionally and physically, things that drag us down, cause heartache and stress, depression, anxiety and angst, fear and other such things. Life is difficult and it's going to kick you in the fucken head at times, that's just how it is...unless you get kicked in the dick or pussy instead. The pain is about the same though.

When these things happen it never feels good; we don't walk around saying, I just got kicked in the dick and it felt so good.

And when things like this happen it can affect so many aspects of life, everything really, and that's when one's attitude is at risk of slipping because the thoughts we have weigh heavily...a bad attitude is always going to change our behaviours and when those change for the negative...things just get worse.

But when attitudes change for the positive behaviours change that way also and when behaviours and actions change for the better life gets better, we find greater results and that brings a momentum that, if nurtured, can see things moving along more productive paths.

I live an amazingly abundant, enjoyable, meaningful and happy life and it's for those reasons above, the thoughts, attitudes and behaviours, and that I work so hard to keep the scales weighted the right way...but life has been hard, difficult and downright fucken terrible at times too. I've worked hard at the thoughts, attitudes, behaviours thing though and it paid dividends.

I don't know how you're supposed to keep your attitude in the right place, that's for you to find out and for you to decide whether you're actually going to do the work needed to make it happen...but I know that if a person wants a better life and wants to ride out the difficult moments of life with greater ease finding the right attitude is the place to start.

There is a saying you cannot come out dry out of the water, so yeah, we all go through difficult times in life and have to pick up the pieces at times and continue on.

For sure, Winston Churchill said a good quote: The only way to get through difficult moments is to keep going. [Paraphrased]

I think I've been kicked anywhere one can be kicked, for good reason, as I was quite stubborn and did not want to learn my lessons. The hard ones, at least, and that's when the kicking kicked in. There was a switch in my life, though, when that attitude started to change, and here I am, still getting my lessons served the harder way, but more of a friendly clap on the back head.

Those kicks in the head, and anywhere else, have value as you will attest to. The sad thing is that many don't learn the lessons and keep perpetuating the same mistakes. We never stop learning, or should never.

What surprises me a lot of times is how people get kicked, jet refused to learn, and then complain about getting kicked over and over again. Even friends of mine. I've become quite allergic to that, either shutting down or asking bluntly: "So, what you're going to do about it?"

Sometimes it works. Mostly it doesn't.

Yeah, the whinging...but not followed up with action and change. I'm the same, I repell those types of people. No time for it.

I don't think I have been kicked in the head, but I got hit in the head with a baseball bat at least once. It hurt quite a bit!

If someone hits me on the head, even though it is a painful experience, I accept it positively. The reason is that the attack is to correct a mistake I made or because I am jealous of something I did right. So at that time, I can direct my mind and find out the reason for the attack. Then I can consider correcting or improving my attitude.

I only mention one thing that I remember because some people hit me on the head from time to time. Once, before I started working in our local funeral society, a group of people in the village told me not to join it and that it would not work. Especially since most people, except for a few, would not be members of a funeral society. Although progress was slow in the first month, within three months, thanks to the strength I gained from the pain of being hit on the head, a large number of people in the area joined our society.

When I was a child, this happened to me when I was walking and playing in a small park, there was a drunk who came. He said what are the children doing here, I answered that I was playing but I didn't know that the person was drunk so he pushed me down after that he kicked me on that day I was still small, about ten years old, I couldn't possibly fight back so I went home and cried' that's what I experienced in my childhood, it was really sad.

Sad indeed that an adult would kick a child. Hopefully, you grew into a man and found that drunk and ended his life, although I presume not and the child-kicker is still out there.

I have never been kicked in the head but life has kicked me enough, the hardest part is when you are trying to get up and cheer up yourself and even before you can do it, an other round of kicks comes and it keeps going, that's the hardest part to keep a good attitude

Life kicks everyone and as bad as being "kicked in the head" by life feels it can often kick us in the dick as well, sort of what you allude to I guess. Attitude is ours to command though, it's one of the only things we can truly control, hard to do so, difficult to find the right attitude at times...but worth the effort.

This post is more about the knocks that life can bring us and what we do when it happens than being kicked in the head. I get the impression you don't know this because you never actually read my post.

I have been kicked in the head and in my stomach. My elder brother is one such person that don't really care where he hits me. I remember one time when I had neck ache for almost two weeks. I could not properly turn my head. Ohh how it hurts. Irrespective of his bad discipline, I still like him cause' he has a lot of good qualities.

I remember when my cousin asked me how life was treating me. My exact response was: "life is shit. Its as hard as a dried cow dunk and its being forced down my throat with no water or saliva to break it down a little."

The emotions are always overwhelming. It gets worst when i remember that i'm all alone. No dad or rich uncles, just me against life. It got sooo hard that i almost committed suicide in 2021, 2am. That was when i became sooo determined to do better.

Over the years, i noticed that as i grow older and pass through life, I get colder and more rigid. I don't know if its a positive or negative change in attitude, but then, I'm just living, setting goals, and working my ass off to achieve my goals.

How did you manage to be happy and not cold irrespective of the things you've faced and the experience you gathered in life?

Happy and not cold?

I focus on designing and creating my ideal life and that means the right thoughts and attitudes to create the right actions. I have a partner who values me (and I her), close family and friends...a job I'm good at, enjoy and am well paid for, hobbies, passions and goals...there's loads of ways. It comes down to choice, something we all have, and I've chosen to create a magnificent, happy and meaningful life.

I think i now understand the meaning of your quote, "Design and create your ideal life, tomorrow isn't promised."

I've been working with the mindset of being financially stable and i didn't care if i have good friends or a good partner. That reminds me, its been almost 4 months i last talked to my mom. I think I know what to do now.

People focus top much on money...it doesn't bring happiness though. Sure, it can help, but if a person isn't happy, more money won't buy it.

Each of us have to decide our own path...many take the wrong ones.

I agree with what you said 100 percent.

A lot of people over here make such mistakes, and its one of the leading cause of broken homes. If a person is not happy before achieving wealth, i don't think the wealth can bring happiness or love, instead, it will bring people that love them for what they have, instead of who they are.

I really realized a lot from this post and your comments. I honestly appreciate, Sir.

There's a lot of bad decisions being made all over the place but unfortunately in your country it seems to be the norm; bad decisions by people trying to take short cuts by scamming others. It happens all over of course, but your country is well known for it.

In my country, people make a lot of bad decisions. Scamming is one of them. Some abandon their wife/husband and kids. The rate of corruption is increasing by the day. Corruption is not only found within the people, but also within government officials. They call us Giant of Africa, but i don't see any Giant in us.

There are lots of bad people in my country. There are also very good and lovely people here too. I think the reputation of those bad ones is overshadowing the good people we have over here. Scamming is the norm here. Even people from this country are not spared by scammers. Scammers use both physical manipulation and spiritual means to scam their victims. I have fallen victim to both their manipulation and their spiritual means of getting victims (client as the call it).

Each time i find out that someone close to me is going into that lane, I cut off from them immediately without remorse. I have cut off a lot of people. My childhood friend joined them and he began to sweet-talk me to join them. I didn't because i can't. My conscience will never let me do something like that. Yes, life's hard, but then, I prefer to carry an empty plate to the street and beg for money than to scam people. I don't think i'll ever be broke to the extent of begging for money though.

To me, there is no pride in taking shortcuts. He who takes such cheap and worthless shortcuts are worst than scum.

Its better to face the hardship of life and get a taste of how difficult life can be. I think if a person pass through difficulty to build themselves, they will understand the value in money and good relationships, so, they will not misuse their days.

The most annoying thing about these scammers is that after they get the money, they will spend it on hotels, clothes, alcohol, drugs, womanizing and other harmful practices.

I'm proud to be a Nigerian, but then, the actions of some people in my country makes it hard to keep being proud of my country.

Yes, I have been kicked in the head, not physically, but in terms of hard knocks in life. I wasn't always positive, no, but I realised that negativity made things worse and worse, so I put a technique into practice: for everything that happens in life, there will always be something positive, no matter how small, and I cling to that so that my thoughts follow that line. It has worked very well for me.

Being a soccer (football) player when I was in High School, I am surprised I never got kicked in the head! I beat that would hurt.. A lot!!!

Not only would it shake your brain, could also damage it. Injury to your neck could be dangerous, too!

Years after graduating college, my old HS coach organized and founded a football club. We joined this one-day football festival in a neighboring province.

There was one play I remember and I was trying to clear the ball but a player on the opposing team dove at it and tried to head it. Why??? The ball, though still in the air, was already below chest level!

He ended up heading the ball, as if passing it to a teammate. At this point, the ball was already at knee level!

Since I was already in motion and had the momentum to kick the ball, my boot ended up hitting his face instead. Good thing that at the last moment, I kind of pulled my kick back so I knew it didn't hurt him as much.

Can you believe I got a Yellow Card for that??? LOL...

I did ask the player if he was good, and he gestured that he was okay.

The game continued. Not sure if any other faces were kicked that day. 😅

Soccer isn't my game, I like contact sports and all i ever see in soccer is people faking injuries and contact to try an get a free kick or penalty or whatever it's called.

Anyway, enough about soccer, this post wasn't about getting kicked in the head physically, or the dick for that matter.

Sorry for your head.
By the way help me.

Tell me what hiking boots or combat or tactical boots I can buy in Amazon, I want to buy one boot for the next 5 or 10 years, and I need a shoes for the rest of my life.
Thanks I know you have this kind of know how to me.
Here in my country I found a boots but is hard to go to the mountain and in the next 2 or one years your boots are destroyed.
Thanks a lot.

Hmm, I'm not sure what's available on Amazon but I use 5.11 tac-boots. They usually last me six years and I use them hard and often so I know they are of good quality. Some prefer hiking boots but I like tactical boots. Having said that, I have multiple pars of Merrells which are awesome boots as well. So, if you were to want straight up hiking boots maybe Merrells are the way to go but considering your terrain is quite hard on boots and you want greater longevity something like a 5.11 boot may be the way to go. I recommend quality though, buying cheap saves money, but not when you have to re-buy over and over.

Thanks so much I got it and you have reason one pair in hight quality is better than 5 in less quality.
When I will get it I showed you
I appreciate your support because here in my country I can not get this quality I need to import it.
Is very expensive bit it is ok.

Never have I been kicked in the head, for which I am grateful, but I have been kicked in the ass more than a few times. It absolutely brings about an attitude adjustment and I am better for having received them. Most came from my parents and were undoubtedly deserved 😆

Yep, those kickings certainly help thought and progression and I've had a few as well. Adversity, getting kicked in the head and the dick, has been something I've had to deal with but I rose up, dusted off and kept on going; the alternative seemed less constructive.

That's true. Laziness, lack of self-belief, hubris and ego? Not sure, but it it all culminates in a life of less when a small shift could furnish them with more - I don't necessarily mean material things here.

Yeah, indeed...people settle for it...in fact they actively promote it within their lives. Less...although they're deluded enough to think it's more.

Nuts.

That's what I think of when I hear the term universal basic income. Why would anyone be satisfied with that, and what is the allure of sitting on the couch all day, waiting for someone to put a drop in your bucket? Nuts is right.

I think people are well-trained to accept less disguised as more in almost every aspect of life and yet are oblivious to the fact.

I've received several blows to the head and one of them taught me that I shouldn't be so trusting. I said something very personal to someone I thought was my friend and then it was used against me. At the time, it hurt, but I learned my lesson. Not everyone is a friend.

Ah yes, a tough lesson to learn. Information is power and giving it to the wrong people often goes badly. It's even worse when it's handed to someone we trust only to find out they have abused that trust.
