Here and there: Twenty Five - Flight Part Three

PPlnZZbrssavli (4).JPG

Here's the last part of my photos from the air show I went to many weeks ago so if you're already bored with them you can look forward to this post being the last one. Again, I've added in that jet I love the best, the second-last two images, because it's awesome and I couldn't help myself.

A few weeks ago I reached out to a club not to far from the area I'll be moving to in the not too distant future as I want to join a club that's fairly close. The seemed friendly, another prerequisite for the club I join because who wants to hang out with fucken assholes right? They invited me to their next meeting and I'll start the discussions around flight training which I figure will take some time. You can read about my intention to start flying in part two found here.

Not as good as others may photograph but for my poor skills they're good enough.

Well indeed it's a requirement that the club is friendly, going there with annoying people wouldn't be enjoyable... It's good that they give training

Yep, I'm not one to waste my life with unworthy people so that will play a part with the flying club I attach myself to.

I like that one too, looks like a full-size jet.

That F14 is pretty sweet! Probably my favorite of all of them.

It was very cool; the guy who owned it is a good chap too, friendly and one who knows his shit.

That is cool. You said you were looking at maybe getting a biplane? Do those use the same fuel as the jets?

Now a biplane, a Spitfire from World War Two, and yes, they use the same fuel.

Ah, okay. I knew it was something older. My bad.

Reaching out to a club near where you’re moving was a smart play, and that invite already says they pass the vibe check. The no-jerks rule is a solid preflight item. Are you planning to kick off with an intro flight and aim for a PPL, or take a few lessons first and see what feels right?

They have flight instructors so I'll go through that process, no point crashing a $20,000 plane out of ignorance.

Solid plan. Dual time costs less than a bent prop, and you’ll build good habits fast. Do you know what they use for training there, maybe a 152, 172, or a Warrior?

Those planes look beautiful. But I would be too afraid to break it by flying it... Speaking about being scared of something I finally asked for the phone number of that hot girl I mentioned before. It went better than I feared but maybe not as good as I hoped. She gave me her facebook instead of the number. And we agreed to go have some coffee in the future. She did not say ,,no'' or ,,I have a boyfriend'' when I asked if she is free. So I think that is a good sign. But I don't really trust youtube dating trainers. So maybe you have an advice how to turn coffee ,, date'' into a real date?

Well done mate, good on you!

My suggestion? Just go there and have coffee, be yourself, find out about her, ask questions and be genuinely interested in the replies. Smile genuinely, be polite and courteous and above all else don't go there with any expectations of more. If she likes how you present then the date will come. If not then it won't; pushing the issue too quickly could be damaging.

That is for the pic that puts the size of the planes into perspective... I wasn't able to imagine that correctly, I had them even bigger in my head.

Wishing you luck for the Flight Club. Just in case, make sure the "l" is actually there, to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Some are double the size in the last image 7 and 8 feet long and more, I guess it just depends on a person's budget.

Wow! Nice photos. Good luck with your cub and flight training. Maybe you'll be part of the air show in the near future.
