Created Two New Hive Communities
I have two regular posts (weekly) that didn't really fit into any Hive community and I always posted them in a general-purpose community, and have branded them through tags, titles, and cover images. But last week the idea came to me to create special communities for them, with the great benefit of being open to everyone on Hive doing the same type of activity or sharing the same things.
Let's get right to the two new communities I created and more information about each of them.
Hive News
After checking, I was very surprised that we didn't have such a community on Hive. So, I went ahead and created one and published my first Week through Adrian's Lenses Hive (and crypto) weekly news roundup on Friday and will continue to do so every week going forward.
Now, I'd be fine if this community will only be a collection of my Week through Adrian's Lenses posts going forward, but I want it to be more than that.
I'm not the only one publishing this type of content, so if anyone else wants, they can also share their posts in this community. It is also a potentially good community to announce new things on Hive or even cross post Hive ecosystem news-worthy announcements.
This is obviously a tiny community (I am the only subscriber so far), but could grow if the news seem important to enough people.
My only request, if you want to post in the community is to not spam it with unrelated content, because I will actively mute those posts, and repeated offenders will get muted after a while in the community.
It's new for me, but I'll try to make it a routine to check the community daily and cast a vote where appropriate. Maybe a comment too...
Hive Goals Community
Many people on Hive write about their Hive-related goals. I am one of them. And after I decided to create the Hive News community last week, yesterday I decided it was a good idea to create one for Hive Goals, for two reasons. One, I already mentioned, because many people on Hive write about their Hive-related goals, and two, because I often have an issue choosing a community to post these posts of mine.
Then, regarding people who already write Hive goal posts, that's a good way to see what others are doing, maybe find out about some gems they haven't run into yet. And ideally, if they are all in the same community, they are easier to find. Since we allow cross-posts while the community is young, that shouldn't be so difficult to have more Hive goal posts in our community, hopefully.
These kind of posts often seem to be a source of inspiration for new users on Hive. So, that would be another benefit.
Ideas? Subscribe, if you are interested!
Do you guys find the two communities helpful? Do you have some ideas for the two communities?

It would be good to find all the news in one place!
Interesting about the Hive Goals community. After discussion, members of the Saturday Savers Club decided not to set up a specific community because at present people published their savings posts in many different communities and that helped to disseminate information about the club further than is it was shut away in one community.
It's swings and roundabouts, I guess 🙂. Good luck with your communities and thank you for taking the initiative.
I understand the reasoning behind your decision as well. Two different approaches, as you said. I don't think either of them is better or worse, it depends what is desired, what people are looking for.
Hopefully that will happen...
There is a Hive News badge though, I see posts related to Hive there, but it's probably for devs.

Yes, that's another good way to look for news. The drawback is it only seems to show news from (certain) devs and top witnesses and it's only on PeakD (unlike Hive communities). For example, only two news have been included in the Hive news badge for the past 7 days. I have tracked 27 Hive-related news in the past 7 days, and reported on 17 on them. Other people often report on other news than I do. So... seems like the Hive News community could be beneficial, and if more people contribute to the community, we will have less bias in what news people discover and share.
Yes, even the devs can use this new one that you created.
Absolutely! It would be great if devs or project owners would start sharing their announcements in Hive News (even as cross-posts).
Oh for a moment I tought it was world wide news the first one!
We could have such communities too, if they aren't already. They are certainly needed and they are outward focused, so likely to attract more eyeballs from the outside.
It is absolutely true that it is not easy to select a community. Last week, one of my posts was also highlighted. Now I am trying to post it in the dailyblog.
Yeah, sometimes choosing a community isn't very easy. I didn't know of the "daily blog" community. Thanks, it could be useful in the future.
Those are great communities to become involve with
I think so too. 😄
Great idea I signed up for both of the communities you created

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing about both communities and I will check out both.
You're welcome and I hope you will. 😀
I think the communities are nice. I usually just go with leofinance for the goals post. I think it just fits well there though.
That's where I usually posted them too. But others don't use the leofinance community. And it can be a cross post in the Hive Goals Community at the beginning, until there is some more activity.
Just found out today that Hive was presenting at Talent Land and was kicking myself for missing it earlier. That was such a huge opportunity for Hive, and it really flew under granny's radar. So, a big thank you for creating these two new communities. Already subscribed to both.. excited to see them grow.
I'm sorry you missed out on Talent Land. I've been writing my Hive News posts every week for a few years already, and I talked about Talent Land in there. But I guess it is easier for people to find a community like "Hive News" than to find and follow me, especially since I post on various subjects. One more reason why this community in particular is probably very useful.
If we have an algorithm that picks up contents that are related irrespective of tags or titles and communities I think it would be better a merger. Contents are scattered in so many tags and places, and it's only an algorithm of a sort that can bring them together
Until we'll have a reliable algorithm that people want to use... I guess I and others who may want to participate will play the role of the AI/algo in making such content findable. 😀
