RE: Krampus Co-Efficient: Overture

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

If you have a KE Ratio greater than one, it means that you have extracted value from the chain.

Isn't HBD also on the chain? I have a KE 0.36 here, but mainly because I recently exchanged a lot of HBD for Hive. But I will buy back HBD when then prices go up.

It is an interesting number, but what will we do with it? I don't need the rewards I make on here to buy food. And even if someone doesn't need it for food, but just doesnt want to build his/her account, who are we to judge this?
I wasn't told that I need to grow my account when I registered.
I do, because I believe in Hive. If people don't, or need the funds for other things, let them do it.

If you are making some arbitrage or scalping with Hive/HBD with a KE < 1,5 or 2 for me is not a problem. Your KE put you in a good position, it says that you are a good Hiver.

But if you extract most of your revenues, you put the Hive Price under pressure, and that’s a bad thing for me, that I’m building and staking it.
So, why should I vote you? Or why I should give you a 100% vote?

I’m writing the next article where i talk also about that. If you want, stay tuned!

I think you also need to see it in perspective.
If blocktrades (or any other whale) extracts 10.000 Hive it would not impact his KE value that much as 1000 Hive would do for a minnow, but does impact the price more.
On the other hand, that minnow might add more value to hive in another way than financially.

I personally won't refrain from upvoting someone that adds value to Hive only because he/she has a low KE.
I do want to prevent myself from upvoting people that abuse Hive by collecting Hive with minimal effort and extracting it all.

I think we as community should focus more on rewarding people that add value to Hive. And KE is one of the numbers that could help with that.

Interesting discussion. Looking forward to your article.
I'm working on a blog as well on how to improve better distribution of rewards.

The example you do about blocktrades is interesting. Good point. I think maybe we could start form KE to elaborate a new index that also include as element how big is an account compared on how much one sell.

I don’t say that KE should be the only one indicator when i upvote an article. But I also count it.
Same good content from two different account, maybe i give 100% to a KE 2 and a 60% to a KE 3.
Good quality post needs a rewards
