Shûmatsu no Valkyrie (Third season) // Anime review (ENG-ESP)

On the 10th of this month, the third season of Shûmatsu no Valkyrie, also known as Record of Ragnarok, was released. This animated series is now in its third season, broadcast on Netflix. One of the things I like most about anime and the aforementioned platform is that all the episodes are released at once, so we don't have to wait for one episode per week like with other productions. This new season consists of 15 episodes, each lasting a little over 20 minutes. Masao Ōkubo returns as director of the anime, and it couldn't be any other way, as he is known for emphasizing the intensity of the fights and the drama of the characters.

I want to start by highlighting the director's work, as it has undoubtedly been a very important factor in the success of this animated series. Masao Ōkubo manages to hold the viewers' attention with vibrant scenes and great battles, and the best part is getting to know the story of each character, both the gods and the humans. Remember that Record of Ragnarok is about a tournament where humans fight against the gods for the survival of the human race, as the gods want to extinguish it. This tournament, called Ragnarok, will define the fate of humans, who, with the help of the Valkyries, will try to survive. According to the anime, this tournament takes place every 1,000 years.

I've watched all the seasons of this series, which, to be honest, I wasn't really interested in watching at first, but the first season caught my attention with its good story and great battles. The anime is by no means perfect. I think there are details that could be improved, especially in the narrative, but nothing that ruins the experience. Overall, I think it's a great production, where each season is better than the last. They surpass themselves as the story progresses, refining details. It's no surprise that the anime is in its third season, reaching third place with more than five million views in non-English languages, which is absolutely crazy. Record of Ragnarok met my expectations in this third season, which is why this installment has been a success, and I have no doubt that the fourth will be even more eagerly anticipated.

El 10 del presente mes, salió la tercera temporada de Shûmatsu no Valkyrie, anime que también se conoce como Record of Ragnarok. Esta serie animada va por tercera temporada transmitida por Netflix. Una de las cosas que más me gusta del anime y de la plataforma ya mencionada es que salen todos los capítulos de una sola vez y no tenemos que esperar una episodio por semana como otras producciones. Esta nueva temporada consta de 15 episodios con una duración de un poco más de 20 minutos por capítulos. Masao Ōkubo repite nuevamente con director del anime y no podría ser de otra manera, pues este se caracteriza por enfatizar la intensidad de los combates y el dramatismo de los personajes.

Quiero comenzar destacando la labor del director, pues sin lugar a dudas ha sido un factor bastante importante para el éxito de esta serie animada. Masao Ōkubo logra mantener la atención de los espectadores, con escenas vibrantes, con grandes batallas y lo mejor es conociendo la historia de cada personaje, tanto de los dioses, como de los seres humanos. Recordar que Record of Ragnarok trata sobre un torneo donde luchan los humanos en contra de los dioses para la supervivencia de la raza humana, pues los dioses la quieren extinguir. Este torneo llamado Ragnarok, definirá el destino de los humanos donde con ayuda de las valquirias, tratarán de sobrevivir, este torneo tiene realiza cada 1000 años según el anime.

Me he visto todas las temporadas de esta serie, que para ser sincero al principio no tenías muchas ganas de verlo, pero la primera temporada captó mi atención, con buenas historia, grandes batallas. El anime para nada es perfecto, considero que hay detalles que se pueden mejorar, sobre todo en la narrativa, pero nada que arruine la experiencia, pues en general me parece una producción grandiosa, donde cada temporada es mejor que la otra, se superan cada vez que avanza la historia, se afinan detalles y por nada es el anime en su tercera temporada, llegó al tercer puesto con más de cinco millones de visualizaciones en idioma no inglés, siendo una auténtica locura. Record of Ragnarok cumplió con mis expectativas en esta tercera temporada y de allí que esta entrega ha sido un éxito y no tengo dudas que la cuarte tendrá una mayor expectación.

In this third season of Record of Ragnarok, new characters are introduced, including gods and humans, with epic battles, dialogues, and spectacular endings. Overall, I think this season is exceptional. I liked it much more than the previous two, although there are battles where the ending is quite predictable. but even so, as a viewer, I can confirm that it continues to capture my attention from beginning to end, although I do think that each battle lasts quite a few episodes. However, I understand that this is also to extend the animated series for more seasons, which is fine with me because there will be plenty to see.

Among the gods that appear in this third season of Shûmatsu no Valkyrie are Hades, the Greek god of the underworld, and Beelzebub, who, according to research and what is mentioned in the anime, is a demon from the Judeo-Christian tradition. Finally, Apollo, the god of the sun, also fights. Among the humans, we have Qin Shi Huang, Tesla, and Leonidas. What I like about the anime is that it brings out different gods from mythologies that we don't know, as well as humans, several of whom are known in reality. I don't have any other ideas, but it's nice to learn about their history and development within the plot. One of the things that caught my attention this season of the anime is the narrative pace, how the story unfolds. Previously, it was more rushed, but now it's quite balanced. I must say that in several parts the dialogue was a bit excessive, but hey, nothing can be perfect.

En esta tercera temporada de Record of Ragnarok se presentan nuevos personajes, entre dioses y humanos, donde se dan grandes batallas, diálogos y con finales espectaculares. En general esta temporada me parece excepcional, me gustó mucho más que las anteriores dos, aunque hay batallas donde el final es bastante predecible, pero aun así para conocer de la historia de los personajes, como espectador, les puedo confirmar que sigue captando mi atención de principio a fin, aunque si considero que cada batalla dura bastantes episodios, pero entiendo que también esto sea para alargar más temporadas la serie animada, lo que me resulta bien porque tendrá bastante que ver.

Entre los dioses que aparecen en esta tercera temporada de Shûmatsu no Valkyrie son Hades, el dios griego del inframundo, Beelzebub quien, según lo investigado y lo que se menciona en el anime, es un demonio de la tradición judeocristiana. Finalmente, pelea Apolo, el dios del sol. Entre los humanos tenemos a Qin Shi Huang, Tesla y Leónidas. Lo que me gusta del anime es que saca diferentes dioses de mitologías que no conocemos, además de humanos donde varios son conocidos en la realidad y la verdad que otro no tengo ideas, pero da gusto conocer su historia y desarrollo dentro de la trama. Una de las cosas que me llamó la atención de esta temporada del anime es el ritmo narrativo, como se desarrolla la historia, anteriormente era más apresurado, ahora está bastante equilibrio. Lo que sí debo decir que varias parte que los diálogos fueron un poco excesivo, pero bueno, nada puede ser perfecto.

This season's animation of Record of Ragnarok has received mixed reviews in certain areas. Overall, I think the anime looks pretty good visually. It's not perfect, but I do like the character designs, and the battles are well represented with good visual effects, although the latter could be improved a little. Personally, I loved it and didn't dislike it at all, but I understand that many people seek perfection. I don't consider myself one of them. The soundtrack is exceptional, one of the best, with great compositions for the anime's opening and ending music, as well as the background music that plays at different moments, especially during the battles, which gave me goosebumps.

This third season of Shûmatsu no Valkyrie surprised me in a good way, being the best of the three seasons that have been released so far. As I said, it's not perfect, but overall it did quite well, with some aspects better than others, but in terms of the narrative, which is one of its strengths, the animation is good and in some cases incredible, with a soundtrack that exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be eagerly awaiting the fourth season. I hope it will be even better, and if it is the last season, I hope they end it with an epic finale, as we see in many of the battles in Record of Ragnarok.

La animación de esta temporada de Record of Ragnarok a recibo crítico en ciertos puntos. En general considero que visualmente el anime está bastante bien, no perfecto, pero sí que me gustan los diseños de los personajes, las batallas está bien representadas, con buenos efectos visuales, aunque en este último sí que se podría mejorar un poco. A mí en lo personal me encantó para nada me disgustó, pero entiendo que muchas personas buscar estar más cerca de la perfección. No me considero uno de ellos. La banda sonora sí que es excepcional, de lo mejor, con grandes composiciones para la música del inicio y final de anime, además de los temas de fondo que se colocan en los diferentes momentos, sobre todo en los combates donde me ponía la piel de gallina.

Esta tercera temporada de Shûmatsu no Valkyrie me sorprendió para bien, siendo lo mejor de las tres temporadas que se han lanzado bastante el momento. Como dije, no es perfecta, pero en general cumplió bastante bien, con aspectos que unos están mejores que los otros, pero en cuento a la narrativa que es uno de los puntos fuertes, la animación que cumple y en algunos casos es increíble, con una banda sonora que superó mis expectativas. Sin lugar a dudas que esperaré con ansias la cuarta temporada, espero que sea mejor y de ser la última temporada, que la rompan con un cierre épico, como podemos ver en muchas de las batallas de Record of Ragnarok.
