My health is my wealth

Have you been to the hospital before for a medical check-up? I have never carried myself to the hospital for any medical checkup in my lifetime maybe I will consider doing that now. Many people abandon regular medical check-ups for reasons known only to them. Some may believe that what they don't know won't hurt them, while others may avoid the possibility of discovering a health issue due to financial concerns, as finding a problem often leads to the stress of medical expenses. Additionally, some individuals prefer self-medication over facing a healthcare system they perceive as inconsiderate and unprofessional.

Two weeks ago, I experienced a serious illness that compelled me to visit the hospital, despite having initially avoided it since the onset of my fever. Unfortunately, my experience was correct with that of many others: I waited for hours before a nurse could attend to me. She informed me that the only doctor available at the moment was in the emergency room and that I would have to wait even longer. I sat in discomfort, reflecting on why a government hospital would have only one doctor available to handle so many patients, with no one to answer my questions.

After more than three hours, the doctor finally arrived. He asked a few questions and prescribed medication without conducting any tests. I felt the need to speak for myself, insisting that he order a test so that I could be certain of my condition. It was at this point that he agreed, and after the test results came back, I discovered that my illness was more than just malaria. Another doctor then placed me on bed rest and prescribed the appropriate medication for my condition.

This experience highlights some of the reasons why many people hesitate to visit the hospital. The lack of passionate healthcare professionals and the daunting experiences often push people away from seeking medical help.

"Whenever you go to the hospital for a medical check-up, the medical practitioner (Doctors and Nurses) will find out about another health problem," so this makes them not go for medical check-ups. Do you think it is True? Going to the hospital for a health issue does not necessarily mean another health issue will be detected if it is not seen in your body. So many people picked race upon hearing the word "hospital," and I won't blame them; money speaks volumes in this world. However, any health issue should be detected earlier than later when there won't be a remedy. After all, we used to say prevention is better than cure

Mummy Gold, a hardworking woman with two beautiful daughters died of Vaginal cancer late last year. She did not discover this on time; she thought it was just an infection, but by the time it was discovered, it had already eaten deeper (a very long story). A fat woman has turned slim within a short period. Upon discovery, it was too late and she gave up. Late discovery and lack of funds killed Mummy Gold😭 May her soul rest in perfect peace🙏

Regardless of the belief, my take on Regular Medical Check-Up is to take care of our health that is, we must not neglect our health, as it is indeed true that health is wealth. This is my resolution now and forever. My health should be my wealth!

That's what some of this doctors do, you just explain yourself for them to tell you they test to run, instead the will give you medicine . Untill you come back and complain about the same illness again before the will finally ask you to go for test

Can we say they are lazy?
The young doctors of today are the worst, they use Google to do everything now and I just wonder what will happen in the years to come🤷

So many people wait until they get the signs and symptoms before they visit a hospital.
