Wing, Pump, Garlic Harvesting, Hot Tub, Raspberries, 28 Mile Bike Ride, Sunburn, PDC, USMNT - Thursday
Yesterday morning first thing I was outside refolding my first paraglider to make it fit in the box I had for it. After packaging it I then went to town to ship it at the UPS store right when they opened. It is going to Torrey Pines Glider Port to get an inspection then upon a good inspection is getting sold! I only put 12 hours on the wing over about 70 flights and am not flying it anymore. Very happy to see it going!

I was home in time for the hot tub repairman to arrive and swap out the dead pump in our hot tub that is still just within warranty. I ended up getting to keep the old pump which may just have a bad start capacitor or start switch. It is a 220v pump so not really one I might use but still, the impeller end is still great... I then got the tub filling for cleaning.

Mid morning I was out in the garden digging a row of garlic. The poor Lukan did NOT do as well as I had hoped and a number of rows were empty.

The hot tub filled I dumped in the cleaner and then spent the next 25 minutes scooping foam from the top and dumping it off the side.

Then I let it drain.

While checking on the draining later I saw a black wasp fly with a crab spider in its jaws. It set it down and flew off but later I saw it had moved it into its burrow.

Our raspberries are kicking ass this year and we have oodles of smaller berries on the plants.

It was nearing 2pm and I decided to go for a ride since I have not had a training ride in 3 weeks. It was pretty windy but by heading north for much of the ride it was a side wind and not head wind.

On the way home I stopped at the quick stop and got myself a Gatorade as I had run through my 30oz bottle on the ride.
I had taken my jersey off and wiped my hand on my back to realize I was in full bubble mode from my sunburn... Ooophf!

I got dinner ready in time for @stryeyz and the boys to eat before heading up to kickball in Elk. The little flycatcher was flitting about while its mate was in the nest.

The PDC North America was on and only Jim Long was able to beat his opponent Josh Rock.

The clouds moved in and it cooled off a ton so I was out in the garden digging more garlic. The Northern White did much better and are a good size.

I kept going and got the Penasco Blue rows dug and they produced more than I planted!

Just one more variety to harvest from the main garden while I let the other section keep growing into next month most likely.
Watched the USMNT team shit the bed in the last moments to Turkey... At least it wasn't an important match since they had advanced already.

Rain this morning. Will get hot tub filling for a rinse fill, then will drain. The boys are going to go with me today to help me haul off a tree after I cut it down along with other debris and smaller trees I already took down. The smaller will have to be drug up the hill which they can work on one at a time while I cut up the bigger. It's SUPER nice to have the cool down right now.

Nice that your hot tub pump motor was under warranty my friend!👍😀
I guess he did not want the core, maybe you can use the spare parts eventually!
He said he would just trash it as it's not worth his time to try and repair it. Just added it to my pile of other old pumps I have from landscaping
Sounds good to me my friend, you never know when you could use a part from an old pump!👍
Amazon does this quite a bit with returns... if it's not worth their time and money they tell you just to keep it!😇
Yes they have done that for us!
I think that’s excellent marketing on Amazon‘s part!👍🤗😇
Those bulbs all look real good. We got a couple good ones but mostly smaller than yours.
What is that hand tool you use to remove them form the ground?
Garlic needs irrigation to grow bigger bulbs and I didn't get mine near enough water so the varieties are varying widely in size.

I use the fork for potatoes and for garlic. It works wonders for the garlic especially since I plant in 5 wide rows. Each bulb is 4-6 inches apart so takes 2 fork widths to harvest each sub row. This fork is missing a tine though as I snapped it on potato digging a couple years back.
I feel ya. We did not get enough water even when using the water reel. We got 3/4 of what we needed. But the skies just were really dry during active growing season for us.
Oh cool. Thanks. I need to get a couple of those.
