Wild Wind, Fixed Car Shake, Fixed Gate, Scooter Test, 3DP, Tilling Begins, Garlic, Trailer - Wednesday

It was a damn windy day yesterday, and the day started off with it blowing and it kept it up all day long. I had my anemometer out and saw 20 mph winds here on the farm, amongst the trees. Tons of debris falling all day but no trees came down or broke.

For weeks the sled has had a bad shake between 55 and 65 mph that I couldn't figure out. Then yesterday I was thinking maybe the rear struts might be bad and as I was scoping them I noticed a mass of dirt caked onto the inner rim. The car had sat for 5 years and apparently the rims filled in with dirt that welded to them so that when the car got up to speed the wheels acted like a vibrating motor like in a phone. I washed them out really good and the car drives smooth as can be now!

I had gone out to let the birds out after getting the boys to school and saw the gate was stuck open. I went out and dinked with it but it wouldn't turn on. Later I went out to check the battery but it was totally fine. When I had closed the gate manually I noticed it stuck on a pine cone a bit. So I went and raked them all out of the driveway and tapped the numbers on the keypad and it suddenly woke up. The stupid gate wigged out over a pine cone....

Mid day I figured out a "spring" for the kick stand on the scooter then with both batteries full I took it for a test ride. I just went with my normal weight for now and wanted to see how long the batteries would last. I went across the highway and up the hill which the scooter did not like the beginning of but did okay once it lowered the angle.

Came back across the highway and did laps down our road and along the highway to the river and back. I have the hill gear on it so the top speed is only about 20 mph but it made it 4.6 miles at full throttle. The next test has to be weighted to flying weight of 205 lbs to see how far I can get on it.

Came across hex bit storage models and got them printed out. The 100 block will be super handy for the masses of bits I have and the sleeved one will be good for the bits I use more often.

The tiller got moved to the top of the first row but then I had to clear debris, rocks, etc.

I got the first 1/4 of the main garden tilled but had to stop to go pick J and C up from running club.

The wooly bears are out now.

I have to devise a means of watering the garlic on the irrigation which is most likely going to have to be overhead sprinklers as they are too closely planted for drip. I hate overhead but sometimes it is just the only option. Hand watering is what I am doing for now.

Once @stryeyz was home and C had been picked up I got the trailer hooked up for the grain run I have done this morning already.

Got through the Sunday animes while eating then headed out to soak.

I have gotten the grain and emptied the trailer this morning before 6am. I'll get the boys to school, till more in the garden, install the new side mirror on the sled when it arrives, get the printer going, clip every bird's wing so the fuckers can't get into the gardens, test the scooter maybe, pick the boys up from STEM, and cleanup more from the winds.
