Weather, Parts, Timer Install, Pump Bad, 12.8 Mile Ride, 258 Mile Month, Lilac Century Ride Signup - Tuesday

Yesterday was a busy morning. I am getting 7 hours of sleep far more now by going to bed a bit earlier which is feeling a bit funky as I am not used to it. We have been well into Spring so of course it showed snow for today but that has now transitioned into just rain.

I got the boys to school then had to go to my weekly session. That went well as I had a lot to unpack from the past week. Once done I headed for Home De-Pot and picked up a bunch of parts.

I even managed to get the conduit to fit INSIDE the car fully by running them through the back seat from the trunk and they sat right on the dash. PERFECT!

So to my client's house I went and was there an hour earlier than I had figured. I got to work on the timer install and gfi outlet swap. I went and wired in the timer and then realized my doofy ass didn't put my glasses on to read the timer box right and got the wrong one. I got the 220V version and required the 120V one... SOOOOO back to Home De-Pot I went and got the right one and also the cap and cover I forgot for the other job.

This timer went on and it worked to control the power for the pump. Once the timer was installed I went to the pump in hopes the gfi outlet had just gone bad. The outlet is the safety for the pump and my hope was the contacts had just worn on it so it wouldn't provide proper power... Well that was not it. The pump froze.

The problem is there are little to no submersible pumps that are meant for a chlorinated environment so they eventually eat themselves over time. Not a very good thing, the pumps USED to last WAY longer... Our fucking disposable society is horse shit. You know how Trump has talked of the "good ol days"? Yeah,
I believe he was talking about when America made products that would last a generation, not products that are meant to break soon to ensure continued customers.

So I have the pump in the trunk of my car and will go to Horizon to see about a replacement, hopefully there is still a warranty on the thing...

I ended up heading for home then and was able to get ready and head out on my bike ride. I still needed 50 minutes of ride time to get the Garmin 20 hrs of riding for the month badge. I was riding back by the school and the church as the bus carrying the boys went by and got home about 5 minutes before they did. When I checked the activity results I had hit 20:00:48 of riding for the month and a total of 258.89 miles over 22 of the 31 days.

Pretty stoked to now be 5th overall for a segment. I have ideas how to ensure I can improve my time on it.

R had his last wrestling practice and it was team picture night. We are now free Monday and Wednesday nights and Saturdays. Though J starts flag football soon but that is only Sundays.

I am now signed up for the Spokane Lilac Century 50 mile ride in May so have setup a Garmin training plan to finish the 50 miles but it is going to take some work to figure out how to follow it correctly.

Today I get boys to school then have an install job to do first thing after picking up a couple breakers at N40, it is to be raining, I will likely do a trainer ride, the boys have a half day as Spring break starts now,

Chlorine definitely eats pumps my friend....
It's kind of sad that they're not built like they used to, everything is getting cheaper.... and smaller quantities(shrink inflation) as well Lol!!😇
