The Burn Pile Continues, Skidding Bundles, Inter vs Bar, 3DP, Garlic, Birds - Tuesday
The fire looked burned out yesterday morning but as soon as I tossed more wood on it kicked back into gear and soon was hungry for more. I headed back to the shed to find a length of line to use to drag bundles down the hill.
Back up the 100ft tall hill and I laid out the line then piled dead trees and branches on it, cinched it tight, then dragged it down the hill to the fire. It worked well as the trees were my ballast so I just faced down hill and walked and pulled. I felt no sense of falling forward thanks to the ballasting weight and the bundle left a nice scar down the hillside.
I hauled a pair of bundles down and tossed it all on the coals which caught the pile quickly.
I was in eating lunch and watching the Inter v Barca match which was a killer match. The play was frenetic the whole time and the stadium was going off.
Barca rallied back rather quickly.
Back out at the fire once regular time was up and I got more piled on to burn.
Inter managed the win and go to the CL final against either PSG or Arsenal.
Back on the hillside I had another bundle to skid down to the fire.
The lack of wood on the lower part of the hill made the skidding much easier.
The boys got home from school and came out to help toss wood on.
J went out with me a bit later and we got the rest of the wood off the hill that I had tossed down earlier. It built the fire up big again and later we threw on a pile of cardboard from the house. This morning the thing has burned itself down to coals again.
The garlic is doing great. I really need to get the pine needles finished laying between them to deter the grass and weeds.
J printed out a coin sorting device and it works pretty well all except the pennies get caught on the dime hole once in a while. All PLA so it works better than the PET.
While throwing the cardboard on the fire I showed everyone where the little bird has its nest in the snag.
Out to soak normal time but my skin is being shitty again so it kicked me out. The muscle relaxer and Ibu kicked in and I actually slept okay last night.
Today I will be going to Saltese to to get first flight on my new wing then I will likely head up to Inkler's since it is open today and the winds will be great this afternoon.

Enjoy your first flight, my friend!🤗
Are you clearing the hill so you can plant? Just wondering about erosion....
No the soil is trash. It is all rocks and sand and barely grows the native plants. Since the sheep have cleared the hill I wanted to make it look better and be easier to transit. The sheep have gotten sticks and branches caught in their wool for years. We don't get erosion thanks to the super permeable soil that doesn't ever have standing water.
