Sunrise, Tree Felling, PDC, GARLIC PLANTING, Clouds, Hornet, Sunset, Monster Truck Rally, Trailer - Friday
The sky yesterday morning was pretty killer as the sun was coming up. This was the view to the east as I dropped the boys at school. The colors were really amazing with the low clouds.

I got the car loaded and then headed to my client's to fell the big tree. I initially climbed up it with the intent of topping it, so I took about 12 branches off and then looked down the hill at the landing spot and and knew it would be easiest to just drop it as one piece.

So the rope I carried up with me got clipped around the tree up high and I then tied it off down hill to a pine tree. I yarded on the rope to get tension and tied it off. That gave the tree a clear direction to go with the tension. My face and back cuts were on point and the tree went down exactly where I wanted it.

20 minutes later I had the tree limbed and bucked. The branches that I took off got tossed on the pile. Today we go back to load it all up in the trailer to bring back to the farm. The family will be helping which will make it a lot nicer for me.

The decision was made that the tree had to go.

So I took it down and laid it to the side to get hauled away with the other tree today.

Nicely I was home in time to see RVB win his match for once. He goes against Clayton today who is likely to destroy him.

Yesterday it wasn't the cold that took me till 1pm to get started planting #garlic, it was my morning work. But none the less I got going on finishing the original garlic area. First was 210 Silver White.

Which I made sure to cover since the needles were just against the fence.

Then I had to go pickup the co-op order and on my way down the clouds were looking pretty cool.

Then on my way home they were looking rather ominous, but never let water fall on the farm.

My Red Oak is in full glory right now.

And the hornets are still mobbing the leaves.

We got some solid winds that came through with the storms to the north.

My hands and shoulders were rather sore from the dibble and punching holes so I found a newish garden tool handle that is straight tapered on the one end so I didn't have to bend over to make the holes. I got pretty good with my aim but the rows ARE a bit wonky in spots.

212 Persian Star in the ground and covered. I figured out to use the hard tine rake to back fill the holes easier. I did screw up and toss a clove in the 5th hole but then realized that was for the next variety and fixed it. I then punched the one row to match and put in 110 Transylvanian.

The last 4 rows got 216 Siberian. Last year both the Persian Star and the Siberian produced over 500% of what I planted in weight. 1 pound turned to 5+ pounds so this year I am planting 3 pounds and hope to get 15 pounds from each.

I ran out of needles for the last 5 feet or so and need to scavenge some to cover.

@stryeyz and the boys went to the school fall carnival then made it home before 6:30, which we then headed out for the arena. The sunset was pretty badass looking!!!

Pretty killer box seats. A pretty killer buffet setup and the bar was behind me.

The trucks were damn loud and hearing protection was worn by most everyone.

Grave Digger was probably the most accomplished of the drivers and was willing to throw down.

The food was quite good.

2 wheel skills competition had me analyzing just how they were able to forward and reverse so easy but could see they have levers on the right side they work which gives them that instant control.

Megalodon managed to end up on its top.

After the half time break the motocross guys came out and were doing some pretty big tricks onto the inflatable landing ramp. Lots of back flips happened and the last run was the train run with them back to back back flips.

Then it was the freestyle for the trucks and Grave Digger killed!

Pulled off the back flip and landed it on all 4.

THE SOUND!!!!! The blowers on the motors are seriously working at times and the roar of the engines was like being at the drag strip. There was also one truck that I'm pretty sure had a super charge on it as I heard a distinct whine from it that didn't sound like the blowers.

As we left we were able to see the trucks all out in the pits. Amazing that they get them to fit in the semi trailers but it looks like with the wheels off they probably just slide right in. We got to see a couple of the drivers walking out and gave them a cheer.

We got home late but I still had to hook up the trailer for the grain run I have done this morning already.

I've been to town this morning already and got a few barrels of grain which I am going to go empty soon since I need the trailer to go pickup the tree and branches this morning. There is still a lot pine needles that need to be gathered for the last 8 varieties as the rows are 50 feet. I will need at least the bed liner filled. PDC is on today, the boys have a birthday party this afternoon, I will try and get more garlic planted but it may have to be done in the rain tomorrow....

Sounds like an awesome day, especially spending the evening watching the monster trucks!💪😊
Twenty years ago, I suppose I got that much done in one day. Now, it takes more like a week. Ha ha! But the fall chores are slowly getting done here.
