Spinach, Peas, Tekoa, Flightless, The Palouse, Garlic, Raspberries, Ozzy - Sunday
Not really the day I was hoping for yesterday. Started off out in the garden harvesting the row of spinach that had bolted. I just pulled the plants and cut the roots off before stuffing them into the bags which then went to the cooler.
I got through the pea row then and added another half pound to the bag in the fridge.
9:45 I took off for Tekoa and was able to get to the gate right at 11am.
Rode to the top with Levi, Chris, and Scout and when we got out of the truck the wind was pounding.
Chris managed to pop off in a little lull, and went on a longer flight into Idaho. Scout launched in another pseudo lull and specked out fast. Isaac showed up and he and I stood on launch as I was ready to go and felt the crazy gusts. I am pretty positive that we were getting stacked thermals hitting the launch and it never felt like I was going to get in the air.
After a couple hours of parawaiting I tossed my shit in Isaac's truck and rode down to my car below. He went to pickup Chris and then Scout. Levi ended up flying 100km and landing by Hayden Lake.
The Palouse is in all its glory right now. I would have liked to seen it from the air but had to settle for the driving view.
I made it home by about 2pm in a not the best mood given the hours of driving, waiting, and then NOT flying. I stopped by the garden shed to check on the garlic which is drying very nicely. I looked over the rows and still have time on the rest in the ground.
Our raspberry plants are super loaded and @stryeyz and I spent a good while picking on them.
We finally had enough as it was pretty warm amongst the plants and the greenhouse side.
There is still oodles on the plants that will get picked.
The butterfly couldn't find its way out of the greenhouse so I grabbed it and tossed it out.
Over 2.5 pounds of raspberries!
Dinner on the deck once it was a bit cooler in the evening.
I got the Ozzy concert downloaded and made sure to skip to the Tool performance that we watched before going out to soak.
The regular short soak was all I got.
Today I am going to go fly Quartzite since I didn't fly yesterday. Will be the hike, fly, scooter. Will go through the garden first for anything ready.
