Snowish, 3DPrinting, Trub, Ice Climbing Prep, Case, Practice, Headlights, Houses - Wednesday

A day of Spring snow yesterday. It took a bit for it to finally move over and start falling despite the fact that it was 32F all day long. Such a shift from 10 days ago when it was -5F. Our entire winter was condensed into a 2 week period this year...

Fucking PLA. Shit filament clogged in the nozzle so the print went bad. That is until I pulled the supports and found that the hexes still fit in the HSW just fine. They are corner panel connectors and can be a bit wonky.

It was 11am when the snow really hit.

But really hitting was small wet flakes that melted upon landing.

I hauled all the shit produce out to the sheep and tossed it in the pen for them to devour the remains of. The birds all piled on eventually but the sheep did a good job of boxing them out.

Art and I texted and he wasn't able to go check out the waterfall so I moved my dentist appointment from today till later so @stryeyz didn't have to take the boys to school two days in a row. Instead I am heading up tomorrow morning super early to pick him and Jess up and we will drive over to the canyon and hike up and see.

I went out and gathered all my gear and hauled it in the house. My twin 70m 8.8mm alpine lines, ice axes, crampons, helmet, harness, and other gear. We will snowshoe in what looks like less than a mile on the topo and hopefully have a 150ft tall waterfall to climb. I am SUPER excited and REALLY REALLY hope the ice is still solid.

Got more borders printed for the HSW, this time for my green center piece.

Mid afternoon the center of the system moved over and the heaviest snows fell, though it still barely stuck. This morning the deck has just a dusting on it still despite the day of snow.

I found a nice 18650 waterproof case on Printables and got it on the next plate.

Added on the o-ring and the line and the thing is perfect. It holds the extra cell for my headlamp in a nice protected case.

I got dinner made in time then took R to wrestling practice. I watched for a bit to make sure but it was good to see him being more self aware so he didn't run too hard to make himself go into a coughing fit.

Back on the farm I headed out and changed out @stryeyz high beams in her car. I had meant to do it over the weekend but neglected to. I'm not used to a separate high beam and low beam bulb, mine are always combined in the Tacomas.

And it was again good to see him not running full blast, he stopped for a moment on the side then went back to jogging his laps at the end. Slowly but surely we are getting him to pay attention to his body and how he feels.

J has an advanced class where they will be doing an avalanche model and testing and he offered up printing a few houses for the test to see how they are impacted by the slide. I found a Christmas village set of 3 houses that I got printing and they ended up coming out pretty good.

Got out to soak but the 102 kicked me out at half an hour. It did mean I got more sleep than normal.

Just the skiff of snow on the deck but the gauge has over a .25 inch this morning. I will get the boys to school soon, the printer is already going on more dummy plates, I have to gather more things for climbing, hit North 40 for dog food, fill my truck up, PDC is on today, 4 Nations final is tonight, I'll pick the boys up after STEM, then figure something out for dinner.

I hope changing out your headlight bulb isn't a real pain in the ass.... it can be on a Suzuki!🙄
The Mrs. likes to run her headlights during the day for safety, people drive crazy over here!!
The life expectancy of the new bulbs is not that long.............
