SNOW, Thrift Stores, Music Shop, Fly Tying, Cold - Tuesday
The overnight snow was still falling in the morning and it took until about 10am for it to finally move off. There was a solid 4 inches by the time it was done and it was not a very wet snow despite the 30F temps.

Once the storm moved off the temps fell over the day and into the night. The snow ended up slush then froze over the day and the city had tons of wrecks all around.

The boys went out to play in the snow and covered each other like playing in sand. They were both a bit on the chilly side when they ended up back in the house.

I had been looking for books and fleece pants around town and decided the best chance was to hit up the thrift stores. We all loaded up in the car and headed to the Goodwill store where we found a few treasures. Like an art easel, base layer shirt for me, a small wood shelf for $5 that costs $30 new in the store.
We then went to the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch thrift store where I found the fleece pants I need and another base layer shirt.

We then went to the only music store in town which is in the building that @stryeyz mother worked at way back in the day when the building was a chicken hatchery. We stopped primarily to see about stuff for J and his bass. We got a couple books for him then @stryeyz got a steel tongue drum that she has wanted for many many years.

In the evening I hauled my tying kit upstairs and figured out mounting the vise and light on the back of a chair. I was able to get a few flies tied. This one I used a piece of pipe cleaner and added the legs.

Curious how it will lie in the water with the legs all akimbo like they are.

I tried a nymph and it came out ehh... But this one came out a lot better using a rooster feather. The hackles are quite puffy and looks like it will be a solid dry fly. I look forward to trying it out once back home.

Bitingly cold this morning and it will be colder the next days. Snow at home on the farm as well but it was just a dusting. Likely a mellow day today before the craziness that will be tomorrow and the 40+ people for Thanksgiving.

Looks like a very nice music store, a place I could get lost in for hours Lol..... enjoy!!😊
It's on the small side for the store front as the back is all practice and lesson areas. Nice selection, though kind of has to have as they are the only ones in town supplying instruments to the schools.
Good for the school, and good for the town to have a music store!😊
Plus it sounds like they don't have any competition at the moment!😇
Only from online, the other music shop the owner died a few years back.
That's too bad.......🙄
Everything is going online now days......
One of the best I have found online is Sweetwater.com check it out they have everything!!
When I picked up my tailor 810 acoustic dreadnought they had the best price!!😊
Bookmarked it. This IS Minot ND so not exactly the bustling metropolis but it has grown a ton since I was here originally.
Excellent my friend enjoy your day!!😊
I am glad I am not in the midwest right now! It's too cold for me. I see you brought along the boys' snowsuits. Good thinking!
It IS ND so any month it can snow.
