SNOW, 3DP, Sunshine, Melt, Watercolors, HIke, WTF! Random Dog Attacked Our Turkey - Wednesday
The storm was moving off yesterday morning after leaving a bit of snow on the ground.
I had found pick holders since J had forgot his pick for band practice so had given himself blisters on his fingers from playing the bass without the pick. This was the first try at them.
Taking the boys to school this was the morning scene.
Next try at the holders worked better as I sized them down some.
Mid morning the clouds parted for a bit and the sun shone brightly before they obscured it once more.
THESE are the holders that work best for my picks. I sized them down for my 1"x1"x.03" picks. This is to make a fan stack but I just put them on a split ring. I gave J one of the early ones so he has it in his school bag. He also has a wallet style card with 4 picks in his bag so he better not be without again...
I had slacked WAY too much on my watercolors. I do my one daily prompt but had eschewed the other 3 each day for nearly a week. I had 15 to catch up on along with the 4 for the day.
I kinda like the Cheshire Cat smile and then the trees below actually came out okay-ish.
The mountains look better than many of my prior attempts so a at least a little happy with that progress. I am slowly, SO SLOWLY, improving my drawing abilities.
After noon the clouds parted more and the sun shined for much of the afternoon.
Got my last 4 done and got caught up finally.
Took the dog for a hike/walk and had nice sunshine blasting down.
Those cells to the north were dropping snow under them but were well away from the farm.
We got the mile done in under 20 minutes.
SOOOO, it was after 3pm and Jax saw something out hte sliders and bolted outside to bark. I looked all around and saw nothing until about 5 minutes later I watched a dog running down the road towards our driveway. At first I thought it was a coyote but the coloring was wrong. It was a husky looking dog. I grabbed the shotgun and ran outside as it ran into the farm and the birds all scattered up the sheep pen hill.
I took a shot at the dog as it chased after our turkey but I missed with the slug. I then chased after it as it grabbed hold of the turkey the camera just caught right before I beat the dog. I grabbed the shotgun by the barrel and hit the dog in the back with the butt of the gun with all my might. It squealed like a stuck pig and I kept hitting it. It ran towards the coop door and I kept slamming the gun into it until it ran off.
It headed straight for the road and then right back the way it came in. I watched for the direction it went and saw it run along the highway towards the bridge. The boys and I went out to the corner by the highway and eventually the dog was picked up. The guy drove over to us and I told him what happened, they are not his dogs, there was a second one all white that he had in his rig.
SOOO on FB it seems there are 3 dogs that all are chipped but not registered and had no collars. It appears the fuck that attacked our turkey is older and is DAMN lucky I didn't kill it. This is just one of a number of loose dogs that has been happening in our region recently.
The turkey ended up okay with just a small cut by her butzel but was super scared. We found her near the house hunkered down.
It's snowing lightly right now and looks to be about half an inch that will melt off within a few hours. It full on is a perfect repeat of yesterday morning. We are finally over 1 foot of snow since November.... This evening I will get R after STEM club then there is STEM night at the school we will take the boys to. Once the snow melts I will get out for a hike or something again today and have just chores to do around the house today while PDC is on around noon.

We've had problems with loose dogs in our area now and then. I can understand the occasional escapee, but the ones that are out on the road all the time are disturbing. Or maybe I should say their owners are disturbing!
This is rare for us to have happen. Though now I think yesterday during my walk with my dog there was a commotion going on at the neighbor's a half mile away. Their dogs were barking like crazy at something. Then a couple hours later the dog ran in the farm. These seem like farm dogs always in a fenced pen that happened to get out and roam.

One of the pet chip companies went out of business, so if the dogs were chipped with that company's system, the database may be gone, complicating matters. A dog that not only strays, but attacks livestock, is as good as dead in the country.
They seemed like older dogs so could be.

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
