We were on the road before 8am yesterday in hopes of beating traffic and people to the mountain. It was a nice bluebird day with a bright sun shining and little to no clouds.

Managed to park in the first row by the campers which is closest to the easy walk to the lodge. ALWAYS grab a close parking spot if possible.

We were in line for lift 1 and were about the 10th chair to the top. The boys and I did a run down Dutchman and @stryeyz met us at the bottom of the Angel lift but it wasn't going yet so we did another run down Dutchman which got us to the Angel lift as it was going. On the way down I ran off into some what looked like powder along the run and managed to fall in a fucked up way. I run tele bindings which don't release easy so my right ski got twisted around and my right knee shot a pain on the inside. Hurt but could still ski and move okay so no tears, likely just a strain.

I managed to snag the 2nd fastest time on the bottom segment of Dutchman. 26 seconds has me 23 seconds slower than the fastest person. @stryeyz leveled up to her first big run down Angel to 4800 then to the base.

The boys and I did 4 more runs. We hit the terrain park and I was at the bottom watching R come down the park and he hit the bottom jump WAY too fast and went full rag doll on the crash landing. He was okay, sore but was laughing about it. We made a run down Huckleberry ridge at max speed and then down Bugaboo into the basin which was where most everyone seemed to be skiing.

The last run down to the lodge the boys went back to the terrain park and I made a high speed run to the lodge down the ridge to Silver King. It was a ski day that I truly love, where the skis get pointed straight down hill and I haul ass everywhere. The snow was perfect with a gorgeous corduroy grooming and soft surface that lent perfectly to high speed carving. I got my high speed for the day at 52 mph.

We were all done after the 6 runs and packed it in and headed for home.

My new #cycling shorts and jersey top had arrived and I love them both. The jersey is killer and I very much look forward to going for a ride in it.

Nice and sunny and warm day until later when the clouds moved in.

I had another Thumbtack job to do. It was just 12 miles north and on the way I stopped at the hardware store to pickup a 1.5" socket that I needed for the heating elements. Kathy is an interesting person and she and I got long great. I started draining the tank and managed to get water spilled into the garage but thankfully it was no big deal. I eventually got the elements removed and HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!

Dad, you will likely fully understand this mess!

The water had not fully drained as I unscrewed the bottom element and when I did the water rushing out was FILLED with debris. Eventually I discovered the bottom element was broken and the inside of the tank was filled to over the top of the bottom element with calcium/hard water buildup. It was a good 10 gallons of the 50 gallon tank was taken up by the huge mass of shit. I pulled a bunch out using the still intact top element as a hook and managed to create a space where the bottom element goes. That explained the very slow draining of the tank as the water had to filter through the shit in the tank to the outlet.

Kathy saw that mess and understands she will likely need a new water heater in the next months. She will also end up having the pipes all replaced in the house as they are 1/2" copper and this shit has filled them to nearly blocked.

She was very happy with me and my service and I have a new client for sure. I got the text later in the evening that her hot water had returned and she was still very happy.

I got home with my payment and a walking liberty silver half dollar, which is a great "tip"! At 90% silver it is worth $30 right now.

I also walked in to my new bike trainer and short sleeve cycling jersey. The trainer is super slick and I can control the thing from my Garmin watch!

With my knee jacked up I finally found that the freeride setting will be my spot for the next few days to try and let my knee heal but still get in miles.

Before we left in the morning I had watched the end of the Italy cycling race, then more of the darts matches. When we got home the last of the matches were going and Niman won. Then in the evening the Kraken were playing and beat the shit out of Florida, last years cup winners.

Holy shit I am torched this morning and feel like I could go back to sleep for the morning. Boys to school in a while, follow-ups on job leads, will try for an hour on the trainer, will contact regarding a road bike I'm wanting, R has practice this evening so I will have dinner ready for then.

Don't forget that I leveled up and this time it didn't involve a toboggan ride 😝😝😝 I liked that run yesterday!

I've never skied at that mountain, only Mt. Spokane and Lookout Pass. It looks nice! But my skiing days are over. My knees hurt just thinking about it.
