Rain, Harvests, Landscaping Work, More Potatoes, 3DP Reserve Board, Trailer - Thursday

Cool and foggy yesterday morning after the rains. The tenth of an inch did a lot to wash the dust off everything and made the trees look much better.

It was a soggy tromp through the garden picking squash and then the cucumbers were protected in the greenhouse.

I had work to go to so gathered all my tools and headed over. I got started on the night lighting and found the utter disaster that it is.

IMG_20250807_125315.jpg

Contractors were working on building a wall for one of the houses above and it was cool to see. Dude got the Cybertruck and he tows his mini excavator around with it. He was paying $900 a month in gas for his old truck he used and the Cybertruck can haul the same.

IMG_20250807_125317.jpg

I dug through the wiring and found leads not connected, wires that just pulled out of the ground, and unknown direction of wire runs. I will likely use my metal detector next visit to try and find the wires where they should run under the concrete pathway.

IMG_20250807_125321.jpg

Manufacture date of 2006? Yeah no wonder it is toasted.

IMG_20250807_125430.jpg

The breaker refuses to reset and these type of controllers are not able to be taken apart since they are riveted together. So I have a list of things to work up numbers for. Night lighting, drainage lines, and tree felling all need to be done.

IMG_20250807_125435.jpg

Then I caught up with the other neighbor as he was leaving and he has had an issue with his water feature losing water. I found a MAJOR problem, the pond liner was installed wrong. The rubber pond liner is supposed to be the top layer, NOT the fabric! The fabric acts like a wick and allows the water to seep out of the liner.

IMG_20250807_133213.jpg

It's really crazy how varied landscaping is. My main client in the middle of the other two, the company I worked for years ago did the install and did it CORRECTLY. These other 2 were done by other companies and a lot of shit ended up turning to other people's problems.

As I was leaving I got another shot of their project.

Some solid storms were floating around and the line of thunderstorms headed for us but diminished before getting to us.

So since it wasn't raining I went out and got another batch of potatoes dug.

IMG_20250807_152125.jpg

Then washed and laid out to dry.

IMG_20250807_152734.jpg

A couple hours later they were ready to bag and I was able to finish filling the two 50 pound bags. They will go to storage with the other 200 pounds. I have now dug over 500 pounds of spuds this year, and much more to go.

I haven't really used gyroid infill so I gave it a try on the reserve parachute packing board which took like 8 hours to print.

IMG_20250807_194317.jpg

@stryeyz and the boys went to kickball then once they got home I got the trailer hooked up for the grain run I've done already.

IMG_20250807_204051.jpg

A short soak as per norm.

IMG_20250807_205859.jpg

And the board was finally finished. I am printing the pins for it now. I really need to repack my parachute so this tool will help.

IMG_20250807_213938.jpg

I've been to town for the grain and have it emptied into the sheep pen. Mid morning I have a doctor appointment then I'm going to get my eyes checked. Probably lunch out then I'll be back on hte farm trying to get more done in the garden. The garlic area needs some black plastic over it to help bake the weeds for the next month or so.
