Rain, Fog, 3DP, Fly Fishing, PDC, Truck Setup, Fly Bench, Bobbin Holder - Thursday
The forecast has rain most days the next week but there is a bit of calm between the waves that should hit us. Yesterday morning it was raining but was largely done by the time I took the boys to school. My body was still really sore from the carport build so I planned to do less for the day.

The rain stopped but the mists and fog hung around for a while.

The valley was strewn with the fog and mist and had a really cool look, ambiance, or air about it.

Trying to print a little set of drawers for the fly tying bench but it turned out WAY too small. I didn't look closely at the dimensions before printing.

I managed to get myself over to the river to throw the fly a bit. I first headed back to the tie in the river and cast under the southbound bridge. Where I got bites before there was nothing.

I happened to look upstream at the deep pool and watched a fish hit the top and breach. I trudged up to it and then waded out into it. I cast around for a while but saw nothing. After moving back down stream and trying some more casts I finally gave up as my wrist has been painful from the carport. It kept getting worse over the day despite my attempts at keeping it from hurting it still got worse.

I had PDC on most of the day and got to see Ricky manage to get into the last 16. He is one the players that the fans really like and he is a genuinely nice guy.

It was a pain but I got the table moved in and then the tools out of the tools shed that I will be needing. I installed the 2nd light above to the carport to give me a lot more visibility. My body is so fucked up at the moment I'm likely not going to be able to do much on it for a bit.

I got a flexi dragon printed out in PLA, this one is able to be sold but I think it looks like it's fat, or it's just hiding its treasure in its belly...

Down to the last darts and neither Smith or Dobey could finish the last leg until Smith got it. They both couldn't hit shit at the very end.

I had been rummaging for something else when I found the small set of drawers. Perfect thing for the bench. I cut a piece from a scrap print and glued it to the back base of the drawer case. I then screwed it to the bench to keep it in place. I will add some tape on the slides to keep the drawers from sliding out so easily.

I also drilled a hole in the bench to insert the lamp post. No need for the clamp and now that I look I may do something similar for the vise. If I can find a sleeve to put into the bench I might be able to have the vice run through the sleeve with a set knob to hold it tight...

I have no clue what I did exactly but my wrist and forearm were THRASHED. This swollen part of my arm was STUPID tender and I wrapped it with a lidocaine patch for the night.

First try at the bobbing holder came out okay. I'm trying another set now with finer setting in hope of a smoother print.

Today I am still in serious pain, my arm is still trashed, and I'm not in a good mood at all. Boys to school soon, the printer is going on more bobbin holders then will get more prints going over the day. If my body allows I will start on the truck, should haul the cardboard all out to the burn pile and watch it go up as the wood cover is getting filled with the shit.

It really surprises me to see that you’re getting so much rain, often times more than we are over here!🙄
How much further south from your place does it start to get less rain?
Someday after the Mrs. retires we had talked about relocating to Leavenworth/Wenatchee to get away from the rain! 😊
I would think Moses Lake is the most in the shadow of the Cascades and driest in the basin. Tri-cities gets a lot of storms that route up the gorge and come off of Mt Hood and the range south but they tend to blow through fast. The Inland NW area is pretty susceptible to the El Nino/La Nina cycles
Thanks my friend, it will be a few years before the Mrs. retires but I will look at Moses Lake, maybe it will be a possibility!
