PT, Dead Car Battery, Fiasco, Rain/Snow, Sun, Cucumber Plants Removed, 3DP, Tilling Garlic Spot, SpaceX - Monday
We had PT yesterday morning, this time both of us. So R and I were on the road to town a little after 6:30am.

A few miles south of the farm the view opens to the east and the sunrise is visible. The clouds looked pretty nifty with the changing hues of dawn.

I was in the middle of my PT sessions as R was in his and I got a text that @stryeyz car wouldn't start. She was to take J to school but was boned and had to wait for me to get home. R and I finished our PT sessions and soon we were bombing back north to towards the farm. Only I went straight to the school and manged to hit the back of the car drop off line so he made it in on normal time.

Over to the farm I tried the battery charger/starter I have but when I plugged it in and turned it on the thing ate itself and the magic blue smoke billowe3d from inside.... I threw the piece of shit across the yard then managed to find the cables to jump start the car with the sled. WELLLLLLL that was a no-go. Appears the battery finally gave up the ghost after 7 years. It was the original that came with the car.

So I got J loaded in the sled and I took him to school where he ended up only a half hour late. I then went straight down to North 40 where I was able to buy a new battery.

On the way home I could see the mountains to the north coated in fresh snow...

It only took a few minutes to get the battery installed and fixed in place then @stryeyz was able to go to work.

Holy shit that was a total fiasco of a morning. The storm the day before had left us another .45" of rain and a 3 day total of an inch. I spent the next couple hours trying to keep my body from going into seizing mode but the car battery situation had essentially undone the PT earlier.

We got some nice sun for part of the day until the clouds moved back over and blocked it out much of the day. I got my clothes washed and tossed them in the dryer since it wasn't very warm during the day thanks to the winds.

Having seen the snow to the north earlier I pulled up the live cam from 49N and this was the view. They got 7" from the storm. Hopefully they get totally buried this month so we can use our passes sooner. I'm anxious to get back on the hill and do some speed runs.

It was noon when I finally made it to the greenhouse where I picked every last cucumber. My total for the season is 858 cucumbers.

With the last harvested I could remove the plants since they had stopped most production.

I clipped the bottom of the string lines for each then started at the entrance side and clipped the top line and pulled the plants from the ground and piled them in the garden cart.

It didn't take too long and really opened up the greenhouse center making it much easier to move around in.

The garden cart topped off.

Which got dumped into the sheep pen where they devoured the choicest bits first.

At the gate by the water trough is this little stand of mushrooms.

A couple more 20g shell holders printed off. One I am using for slugs, hence the brighter color filament for it. Too bad the slugs only come in 5 packs, I need 2 more packs to fill out these holders.

After noon I spent time getting the garden area cleared. I had to pull up a few beets, the rest of the asian cabbage, then pull the plastic back, roll the irrigation lines, and pull weeds. The cart got hauled to the pen again and dumped.

Finally I was able to till the ground around 3pm.
I grabbed the dibble roller and check that I have the space, which I do, for the 4 rows. Today I will rake then roll it. I need enough holes to get my 3000 cloves into.

I was taking a break for a bit as my shoulder was and is fucked. I saw the headline that Starship was going to launch and I got the stream going with all of 10 minutes to launch. It was a BADASS launch and flight. The Everyday Astronauts team did a KILLER job and they had the BEST sound from the launch. I had it on our main system and the house rumbled!
As it got higher the view they showed of all 33 engines lit and full throttle it looked like a GTT Mirage glass blowing torch at full throttle. Below is the face of the Mirage.

This is essentially what it looked like and was SO COOL. Only it was Raptor engines pushing a gargantuan rocket into space.

Starship was in sub orbital intentionally staying out of orbit when I had to go pick J up after XC practice.

We were home in time to watch Starship reenter then touch down and subsequently explode in the Indian Ocean.

Our expected frost overnight meant I had to move everything around to get it under cover or inside. The squash all ended up on the patio. It didn't actually get that cold last night/this morning.

Managed to get dinner made but the muscle relaxer had me in bed a little after 8pm.

Today I have to start planting the garlic after my chiro appt this morning. J has his last XC meet this afternoon which means picking R up from school which will wonk out half an hour of my early afternoon...
The tilled area needs to be raked then dibble rolled, Sheep need waters filled and the tank heaters readied, garden has rows to finish pulling, and hopefully by some miracle keep my body out of major pain modes.
