Predawn Grain Run, Empty Trailer, Sunrise, Tour, 23 Mile Bike Ride, KOM, Swan, PDC, Session - Thursday

Sleep is rough with this head ick still clinging on and yesterday morning I was out of the house and on the road to town before 5am. Even at that time of the morning I STILL encounter asshole drivers on the highway. It's absurd just how horrible people are at driving anymore.

Early mornings are much better though than mid day and I am able to drive Division for the couple miles to the brewery.

The 4 barrels loaded into the trailer. I can't help but hear the homeless guy AGAIN screaming and yelling at nothing as he walks across the intersection, then the other guy who screams, "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" at him. Mental illness, psycho, deranged, or just an asshole...

So I bomb back north and as I hit Hillyard the twilight was showing over Mt Spokane.

Then Mt. Saint Michael in the glow.

Her car needed gas so a quick stop at Maverick on the way.

Again Mt Spokane in the sunrise.

The steaming pile of grain unloaded into the sheep pen who were all up the hill and did not see the grain until light when they moseyed back down to the hut.

Basque tour stage 4 went on and the finish looked like a killer having to climb sprint to cross the line. The power output the pro riders produce is crazy.

It was a cold morning so I let the sun warm things up for a while then got ready and headed out for a ride. I love my cycling jacket from Little Donkey Andy, it was perfect for the chill until I got well warmed up on my KOM throw down around the lake. I had been in 3rd for a long time and finally decided to go set a better time. The old 1st place was 6:26 for the 1.24 mile loop. I had my warmup from the house to the lake then hit the path a few hundred yards before the start point of the segment. I was at speed then and was able to make the loop in 4:27, just shy of 2 minutes faster. I had to ride the circle round about a number of times to bring my heart rate down. I can go faster and will work to get it down closer to 4:00.

I headed back south to D-C road and then rode west. I chose to turn onto Monroe, left just ahead, and head south to Wild Rose

IMG_20260409_103649.jpg

My jacket stuffed into it's own pouch then fit in one of my jersey pocket on my back. There was SO MUCH more traffic on Wild Rose than on D-C/Staley which was a bit odd from the norm.

My back was still sore from the tree climbing the day before so I had to stand and stretch a number of times to get the kink out of my lumbar. Trying to fuel more while on the rides as well so intaking a few hundred calories seems to help a bit.

My climbing feels a bit stronger but the burn on the KOM at the the beginning of the ride meant I was just cruising the rest of the way. A solid 23 miles in though and I am nearing halfway to my 1000 mile goal for the year.

Once home I got the PDC on and then R was in the kitchen hacking up an apple to which he came into the living room and showed me his swan he made. I think the head looks more turkey-ish but still creative nonetheless.

How the tub is comfortable I have no clue. Rubber kids can sleep in the weirdest oddest places and positions.

Clayton came back in the final and spanked MVG.

We had our couples session in the afternoon so @stryeyz was off work early. The session went good and we were home in time for her to eat before bible study. I managed to make it to 8pm before I had to go lie down.

As a side note the cat disappeared out the dog door and was gone all day which had the rest of the house worried but I felt she was just on walkabout. I was right, 2am this morning she was meowing to the house as she sat by Jax's bed. I woke @stryeyz to tell her which made her very happy.

Today I will head back up to client's house to install a new sink faucet, finish assembling the porch swing since she found the parts, and maybe hack up the logs though that could wait till tomorrow when I go to haul the branches off. Azure pickup early afternoon, the Basque tour stage this morning, and I will get a ride in at some point attempt a mellow ride...

Sounds like bad drivers are everywhere, my friend!!🤔🙄
I really hate driving down to Seattle,
It’s like everyone has lost their mind and is still behind the wheel of a car!!😬

lol….. so very true!🤣
My son and his wife really want to relocate to the eastern side to get away from the crazies!☺️
Fortunately, or unfortunately, he has a good job in Issaquah working for the city!😊

It's great weather for a bike ride just now! I like the apple swan. He's very creative.
