Predawn Grain Run, 3DP, Pothole Filling, PDC, Rain, Apiary Cleaning, FIRE!, Candle Marshmallows - Thursday
Super foggy yesterday morning before dawn as I headed to town for grain. It was crazy thick for about 2 miles then it thinned out as I got farther from the river valley.
I made it to the brewery after going around a number of super slow moving morons. The grain had been sitting a while so had a pair of full garbage bags atop them. Thankfully the brewer covers the barrels since they tend to get used for garbage when sitting.
I soon had them loaded and was on my way north.
As I crested the hump on the bypass I could see the wall of fog to the north.
Then as I was within about 2 miles of the farm the wall of fog was there but it had lifted a ton just in the time I had been gone.
With just the smaller load of grain I decided to just shovel it out right away so back the trailer to the sheep pen and tossed it all in.
The boys are on spring break so they slept in and I got the printer going. 1 week until I need the dummy stuff ready.
Our road has turned to shit with the potholes. It's been truly awful and I had had enough. The plow has ended up shoving a ton of really good gravel to the end of the culdesac each year so I rolled the wheelbarrow out and used it to haul loads down the road.
The first load showed me the tire was too low so I emptied the gravel out to nearer spots then headed to air the tire up. When I got back to the house the print was done and needed the next started.
The PDC was coming on I thought at 11am so I had an hour to get the potholes filled in. I loaded the wheelbarrow then had to wheel it all the way to the other end which is 100 yards away.
I overfilled each as there was water in most. Hopefully the gravel and dirt will dry and they will stay filled for longer this year.
Super heavy loads in each wheelbarrow run but after 5 loads I had the main road done.
I pulled a healthy amount of the gravel out of the pile.
The last part was the transition into the driveway which could probably use a bit more at some point. I was pretty beat by this point and headed for the house.
Ended up missing the first match but got to see Luke lose bad to Dobey.
Then Bunting FINALLY won matches!
Swapped over to white for more frame parts.
Bunting won the night! He was languishing in last place with zero points.
I was out at the truck looking to do some work on it but the rain was coming through again so I just worked on organizing the table to make it easier to work later.
It was a shitty little cell that dropped rain for about 20 minutes. The whole day was a mix of sun then clouds, warm then cold, calm then windy.
More sheets done.
This year I'm moving the hive indoors and so needed to make space for where it will go. The #apiary /garden shed was a total mess.
After about 30 minutes I had it all organized on the other end of the table.
Which gives me the space to build the stand for the hive which will go int the corner. The entrance will be at the height of the bottom of the window so it is high enough we won't walk through the stream of bees outside.
Found out the tree supports do no work well in tight spaces. I broke the handle part and printed it out again with normal supports which came out WAY easier.
SOOOOOOO.... I was thumping the bass on the receiver and standing right in front of it when I heard a pop and sizzle then saw actual flames start. I turned it off but not before the wonderful blue electronic smoke began to fill the living room. I quickly disconnected the unit and took it to the porch where I pulled the cover to reveal a capacitor had popped and fried 4 resistors on the corner of the board.
WTF! WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE ANOTHER GOD DAMNED THING TO FIX??? I have the parts but god damn it...
So back in with the old receiver which works but no where near as good. After dinner the boys wanted marshmallows and J didn't want to go start a fire outside so he grabbed candles from around the house.
It was pure silliness how hard they had to work to get them "toasted" more burnt.
Soaked for a while which was nice after the earlier shoveling.
Needed to fill in the blues more in the armor parts.
This morning we are going skiing for a few hours then will have to be back for the co-op pickup. I'll work on the truck more, get the printer going later, and likely get the burn pile going again this afternoon.

Sounds like the weather is changing quickly!😊
It’s amazing what damage winter can do to a gravel road with potholes!🙄
