PDC, Utd, GR8 Hockey Record, Hot Spring Skiing, Hike, Garlic, 3DP - Sunday
Was up in time yesterday morning to watch RVB barely lose his match, down to the last leg. He is still doing okay but just not winning as much as he used to.
Then the City Utd match happened which was a nothing. Both sides sucked massive loads and the nothing tie was all either deserved.
The whole point of the morning was watching and waiting for it to happen. OV scored the new record goal and the game stopped for about 20 minutes for the pomp and circumstance. It was awesome to see it and as the pomp went on I worked on gathering all our ski gear and getting us ready to go.
J and I were on the road bombing for the mountain. It was about 54F as we headed north.
We were to Sunrise parking by noon and pulled in to find ample parking available. That was a good sign of the limited number of people on the slopes.
The snow was SO SOFT and SO SLOW. We hit the top and did Dutchman down to Angel and had to work at skiing. We were both hot and sweating by the time we were on the lift. We dropped down from Angel and hit Stope which is a nice steep run but it was quite a bit easier with the snow so slow.
We were a bit overdressed for the heat for sure.
So we dropped down Sunrise and dropped jackets and helmets in the car for one last run. We hit the summit then did a fast run down Huckleberry to Broadway. I'm quite proud of J and just how fast he is picking skiing up. He's finding the speed fun and is hardly crashing at all.
After 4 runs we were hot and good for the day. I had put our pizza (in it's bag) on the dash to warm and when we got back to the car it was nicely warmed but not hot. As I drove us out the lot it was 62F.
A stop for gas on the way home gave time for the waste of space to crawl their car past so I was not having to follow them the last couple miles home.
Such a slow day with my fastest speed being only 33mph. I will say that it's a bit annoying that the lifts take up to 15 minutes to get to the top and I make a run down in 3 minutes. 4 runs for 30 mins of skiing with 90 minutes of riding the lifts.
It was after 4pm and I had the gear all put away. R wanted to go for a hike so I tagged along while J hung back. Jax was stoked to get to run the pen.
My garlic is growing wonderfully and I'm hoping the pine needles will help keep the weeds at bay this year. So far it's looking like almost every single one has grown.
Such a neat stack but NOT where they belong.
I counted out the dummy frames and found I needed more armor so I got a trio of blacks printed out. It gives over 40 sets for Saturday and the first craft fair day.
Rather nice to still see light at 8pm when going to soak. Managed a bit longer with the water quality better now.
It dumped rain overnight and looks to dump all day. There is some serious cells coming right at us from the southwest. Spring break for the boys and R is still on mellow mode from his injury. I have to wash my clothes first thing this morning, make the boys clean in their rooms, and I will have the printer going today with accessory dummy parts and the spiders and pets.
