PDC, Raking Launch, 3DP, Kiting Launch, Radishes, Fire, Grilling - Sunday
Slowly my knee is getting better and yesterday morning it didn't hurt for a number of hours. Thanks largely to not doing much for a while. PDC was on and it made me happy to see Gilding lose.
I headed up the hill mid morning with a rake and spent time clearing all the sticks and pine cones and other debris from the launch area.
The stumps are going to have to get cut down as they do cause some problems.
But now with the pine cones gone it is a lot nicer on the wing and the lines.
Nifty camp trowel I printed. It has a hollow handle for it that reverses for storage. It's in PLA so not likely to last forever but still it's pretty damn strong.
Asp got his 2nd title of the year in a rather good final match.
After 2pm I headed up to go get some kiting in and managed a bit better than prior day.
I have to add a lot more streamers along the fence to denote the wind direction and intensity behind the lip of the hill. The winds hit the hill and flow up it then there is a shadow behind the lip and that is what I am playing in mostly. It's some of the most difficult launch conditions to work with and it's forcing me to really learn to control my wing. I've figured out that I am using far too much brake with this wing and I need to be a lot more gentle with it. Likely I was the cause of my collapse so less intense movements of the brakes and more weight shifting.
At one point the wind was coming straight up the hill and I pulled the wing up and into the air overhead. I tried to brake it and get it to stop but the wind gusted and I got lifted and spun around.
I spun to face forward and then the wing full frontalled back over the top of me and I had to spin around and keep it from the fence. I got an hour in before the winds went awry and I was done.
My potato radishes are growing! Rather pleased that the idea is working. The ones that are growing in the spots with much more vigorous spud plants are growing slower than the ones more exposed to the light.
I got the fire going then grilled our burgers for dinner.
Sometimes you have to adapt and overcome when without burger buns but have hotdog buns.
Managed about 45 minutes soaking but had to ice my knee after again.
The circle template came out nice for @stryeyz crafts.
Nearly summer break for the boys and I will get them to school in a while. Looks like flying the Backyard up north today. The warming trend begins and we will be in the mid 80s for the next week.
