The fog was super dense for a while. The Peone prairie looked super nifty enshrouded in the fog.

Through Idaho and into Montana we made a stop at the Alberton pull out by the river. I've seen people down by the river most times we have driven by but never gone down ourselves. So yesterday we did despite the hilly temps.

The Clark Fork river flows quite strong as it rushes towards the Alberton rock.

Couple climbing routes on this face. I found 2 anchors but not the 3rd.

The water had been a good bit higher very recently. There was moist sand riffles a foot or more above the water level. Seems it has an ability for rapid changes in depth.

Through Butte and over Homestake Pass and the Continental Divide.

Gas in Bozeman before the last bit to Billings.

The sunset was incredible. Big sky country is right.

There were a couple Lenticular clouds floating on the horizon for seemingly no reason. They normally form OVER something but these looked to have formed without.

Seriously the colors were incredible.

We got to our hotel by about 5:30 then ended up heading out for food at By All Means brewing.

Really good food and beer before we headed back to the room.

Slept better than many nights and we will be heading on our way to North Dakota today. This is the shorter drive now and THANK GOD the weather is amazing. 50sF this time of year is a bit abnormal but very welcomed. By the time we are heading for home though it will have changed to near 0F temps.

Beautiful sunset pictures! I didn't get to make annual fall trip to Montana this year, and I miss that Big Sky Country.
