PDC, 3DP, Weedeating Launch, Hour Kiting , Gooseberry Weeding, Fire, Grilling - Saturday
My sleep was HORRIBLE Friday night Saturday morning and I was on the couch trying to but finally gave up and just got up for the day. PDC Euro is on and some good matches happened over the morning.
Pushed a few prints to the printer. The dart case needs a little work to fit my darts but should work well.
Then the innards to a fishing reeling.
While the boys and @stryeyz went to town I got the weedeater running and headed up the hill to the launch, cutting the trail as I went.
It only took about 20 minutes for me to get the whole launch area cut down. There is still tons of pine cones, sticks, branches, and debris that has to get cleaned up.
The case for the reel. I have to do some sanding on the inside pieces to make it all nice and smooth.
I packed my wing and harness up to the launch to do some kiting since the winds were on and off really strong. Early in my kiting session I could see the grass fire that had started a mile north along the highway and watched the response of the fire department. You can see the smoke just above the left side of my wing.
I got the wing in the air a lot more over the hour plus of kiting. The winds were funky though and wouldn't blow consistently so I could get the wing up then it would lose lift and fall back to the ground. These are still from the vid from my helmet.
These are the still from the camera I had on the ground and came out pretty killer I think.
@stryeyz and the boys came up to watch me near the end of the session. I stopped to have a drink of water then some of my beer when the winds picked up again. I setup but it then began to REALLY blow and I called it good. No sense pushing it. It IS just a 5 minute walk back to the house.
Later in the afternoon I walked by the gooseberry plants and saw they had been decimated AGAIN. I hadn't pulled the grass around them so they got got. It took a lot of yarding and pulling but I got a bunch of them exposed better. Still a ton more grass to deal with.
I got the fire going in the pseudo pit while J hauled all the grasses I pulled to the sheep pen.
Dug in freezer and found we still have some ground bison so I made us beefallo burgers.
Jax was super comfy laying on the cool grass in the sliver of sunlight.
Soaked a bit but the knee kicked me out. It's getting better but is still pretty sore.
Whack winds today so I will end up kiting somewhere either here at home or up at the school. I'll rake and clear the launch of debris and maybe haul the saw up to cut the stumps. PDC finals day, need to wash my clothes, mow below house or have J do it, then will grill again for dinner tonight.
