PDC, 3DP, Super Fog, Christmas Tree Hike, Sun Rays, Light, Roast, Fly Tying - Saturday
It is a bit better these couple days, not seeing the clock saying 3am is a step in the right direction. I was up an hour later yesterday and even today.

PDC starts at 4:30 PDT so I am able to see them as they start. There are some pretty good matches with not too many whitewashes. It's nice to see the matches a bit more competitive.

It was a SUPER foggy morning. The farm has a way of creating a bit of a bubble amongst the trees but out on the valley the river and moisture had socked the fog in super thick and dense.

I found a new laptop riser set and got them printed out. They are close enough once I added a bit of rubber under the front end.

It was 10:30am when we all were on our way up the trail to the upper property and the stands of fir trees. The fog was so thick and the air heavy with moisture that EVERY spider web was laden with droplets. It was quite wild seeing the normally ghost like webs all shining bright.

Oodles of fungus still blowing up all over the farm.

There is a valley out there, really. We wandered the upper pen and the various stands of trees but I kept coming back to one tree.

So crazy how thick the fog was.

The 200 foot visibility was rather wild!

I found one of the better tops to the trees and came back to it in the end. Most of the better trees are 20ft tall or so but they are packed together tight enough that the thinning is rather helpful to give me bigger and better trees in the future.

The sheep and alpaca will gnaw on the branches and bark when they finally manage to mosey their way up to them.

Soon had the tree in the stand at the house and trimmed to size. Cleaning in the house made room for it and J and R got most of the decorations on.

Before noon the fog SUDDENLY burned off. It went from no visibility to sudden sun and light within minutes.

Found a desk drawer to print so it finally finished mid day and I got the rails printing.

Poor Spellman got beat bad!

The rails. I then had to sand down the sides a touch and managed to get the setup installed in my desk.

R had a bday party to go to at the laser tag place up north for our neighbor/his classmate. @stryeyz took him and he had a blast!

I had been putting it off but finally grabbed the ladder and changed the bulb in the yard light. Had to run through everything else first like the breaker, wiring, etc. Quite the difference it makes in the yard for sure.

Big chuck blade roast went in the oven and after almost 2 hours it was quite tender and super tasty.

While we had Home Alone on the tv I worked on tying a couple flies. Also trying to get myself learning FreeCad more.

My desk has the perfect space now for my tying setup.

I have well over a pound of feathers that my eagles have gifted me over the years that I am digging through and pulling out of.

Wind vane printed out okay but I need to reprint the conical piece again in 100% infill so it won't break so easy.

Today I have to go fix the lighting for my client this morning then have cleaning around the house to do. I need to work on organizing the pantry as it is a disaster area, baking will be going on much of the day, PDC is on, Seahawks play, and my chair rug floor protector will be here to save the flooring from my chair wheels.

Looking at the photos taken in the forest, I felt like I was in a movie scene, very impressive :))
I know goats love the branches of these trees. Especially in winter, they are a food source.
Congratulations, you've done a great job.
Beautiful Christmas tree, my friend!👍🤗
Fir trees are the best!😊
We have primarily Doug Fir and Pondy Pines on the farm. Our larch died off some years ago.
The Fir probably will last the longest as a Christmas tree!👍😊
Have a very merry Christmas my friend!😊
