Non-Stop Pain, Harvests, Cabbage, PDC, Storms, Sling, Thunder Boomer - Sunday
I slept better for my shoulder last night but the pain is still omnipresent. Tomorrow is my chiro and hopefully an idea of the exact or at least options for what is wrong in my shoulder. I'd rather a pinched nerve over a tear!
The squash are trending down in production now which is fine by me.
After the large load of cucs the prior day yesterday didn't have many ready. The tomatoes had a few which all went to the house.
@stryeyz helped me harvest the cabbage since the moths and earwigs have been having their way with them. Lots of outside leaves had to be removed to get to still good insides. Got over 16 pounds from about 30 plants. Lots had to be taken really small, maybe the size of a smaller grapefruit.
The plants all got yanked up and tossed in the wheelbarrow. I had secondary growth on a number of the earlier harvested plants which gave me 4 per and a couple of them were nice and solid.
The sheep were stoked on the munchies.
Flanders PDC was on and the final was Rock v Littler and Littler pulled out the win. Was wanting to see the Flanders tourney since the Fleming name comes from Flanders originally.
I looked at the doppler mid day and saw some healthy storms in the region. A cell went over and dropped a few sprinkles on the farm which was nice for a bit of cool but then the sun was right back out and HOT.
@stryeyz and the boys went to towns and on the second trip got me a sling for my arm which helps to immobilize it and keeps me from moving it too much and thus spiking pain again. This morning it is still painful and the one spot is still really tender.
After leftovers for dinner the muscle relaxers kicked in and I was in bed shortly after. About 8:30 the insane loud BOOM of thunder exploded right over the farm and a solid downpour ensued. Dropped .13" in the short time it was overhead.
Today is going to be hotter than yesterday, I have to try and baby my shoulder but still get the garden stuff taken care of. My head is not exactly in it right now but I'll see what I can get done.

Several years ago, I hurt my shoulder pruning trees….
At the time I was lead acoustic guitar player in our Worship band, and it got so bad I couldn’t even hold my pick!🙄
My right arm was going numb off and on from the pain. It took three months to heal. I just powered through playing guitar because we played every Sunday.
Looking back I don’t think this was the smartest move, but it did eventually heal. I believe I tore something, and every now and then, I can still feel this old injury in the morning…..
Sometimes we carry old injuries, our whole life!😮
I am a mass of scars from all the accidents I have over the years and tend to just plow through as well but this has impacted my life too much I need the outside opinions on what it is.
Sounds very wise my friend!👍
I probably should have when I hurt my shoulder as well…….
You don’t want this to drag on especially with all the physical work you do on your farm!
he does need to learn to slow down and ask for help and accept help 😜 When he turns down offered help eventually we quit offering. I am glad he let me help yesterday.
Unfortunately, it’s a guy thing Lol!🙄😇
One time, me and Liz were putting up roof trusses by ourselves, and one stuck on the end and wouldn’t seat correctly!😬
It was stuck. I couldn’t bring it down. I couldn’t make it seat correctly at all.!
I refuse to ask for help, Liz ran to a neighbor’s house for help…
She was mad at me for days for not asking for help!🙄😍
I think it takes strength to ask for help, but a lot of men think it's a weakness. 😜 It's not always easy, but when one can learn how to ask for help now and then, it allows others to help and support. It gives the one helping, the opportunity to feel useful as well. Win win!
Very, very wise words!👍😊
