New Year's Day 2026, Finally Snow, Hike, Watercolor Paintings - Thursday
I can honestly say I have ZERO love for 2025 and am extra happy it is behind us now. Between my truck's mortality being tested to the max to my current existential reckoning and all the bullshit around, in, over, under, and permeating so much I am just tired.
Watched the PDC matches, printed out a bunch more on the #3dprinter for the painting, then went out to try and figure out my truck. I popped the OBD tester on, started it, and found major problems with hte misfires again. I have to go back through the thing and figure out what I fucked up this time.
It wasn't until later in the day that it actually began to snow finally and before it got dark we went for a hike up the hill and around the upper pen. The snow was never heavy but it was rather constant well into dark.
The painting table is still setup in the living room so I got a handful done over the evening. Playing with the top left, top right sky came out really cool, then the bottom came out ok but I think the hills are a bit too dark. These are all on 1/4 sheet 9x12 watercolor paper.
This is the one I am most proud of. It has depth, really cool look to the sky, and I got the reeds/grasses to actually look realistic.
The last one also has a pretty cool sky. The land came out a bit better and I managed to get the trees in okay.
Today I am dreading a bit with my appointment this morning. Potential for some drastic changes... I will see. PDC is on, snow still trying this morning, printer is going already, and will poke at the truck some more I guess.
