Mount, PG Brake Handles Printed, Garlic, Trees, 3DP, Strawberries, Rain, Spokane Chiefs Hockey Game - Wednesday

After getting the boys to school yesterday morning, then picking R up due to his not feeling well, I had to deal with the mount for the phone holder I printed for the sled. The sticky I used on it got hot and let loose so I had to drill a couple holes in the bracket then screw it to the panel on the dash. It is WAY stronger now and will not come off easily.

I finally found the right brake handles but the first print was not useful as I didn't measure the opening first so they were too small. I scaled it properly then got the real pie3ces printing.

The garlic is growing wonderfully and the ones I have been a bit worried about not growing well, the ones to the left side the Uzbek and Inchelium, are coming along well now and look to be filling in. Last year they had minimal water, this year they are getting all they need and are showing it in the size of the tops already. This is the humble beginnings of Fleming Family Garlic Farm. Started with 200, now 1000, next year???

I was down at the creek trimming the trees some more since there was still dead branches. I called it good on the main tree then back across the creek I went at the I think Poplar trees that are sprouting from the roots system. They have invaded the pear trees so I hacked and pulled and broke them out of the ground.

The actual first handle set came off great. I don't have any red PETG right now so I printed it in ABS. I tried to get the texturing right but the steps just wouldn't smooth in the program so I took them to the sander to smooth the surface.

The second set in PETG came out a bit smoother but I still took them to the sander.

They installed on the brake handles perfectly. The whole problem was finding handles that would fit the webbing, all the ones I found were way to narrow or wouldn't scale well. These scaled perfectly and are small but perfect. This will allow me to push on the brake lines to feel the wing rather than pulling which will also keep my shoulders and elbows down forcing me to relax more. Not that there are any Paragliders on Hive but the link is there if anyone wants to print them out.

I had given my pair of spools away so needed to print out more. This one is getting the other length of power kite line wound onto it as a possible second tree kit.

The only strawberries we will get this year will be the wild ones that grow in the yard. We have a 3 tiered area below the hot tub towards the creek that has a couple different wild types. They have distinctly different leaves between the two but are both wild. I've been rather tempted to move a bunch to a spot in the garden but haven't yet.

Another spool cuz I could.

It had gotten dark outside around 4pm and I popped up the doppler to see the mass heading east just north of us.

It started to sprinkle and looked like it would dump but never did.

As we were getting in the car to go to the hockey game there was a cell to the south which we ended up driving through solid down pours which some were hundreds of feet long to a mile or so.

Parked north of the stadium near our old spot then walked down to the game.

Boys got a pic with the cup as we headed for food.

Got lucky and got ourselves a table to eat at instead of in our seats. Much nicer and easier.

This time the boys were a lot more well behaved in keeping their voices to a more reasonable level when cheering. A time before they actively tried to lose their voices so were shrieking, this time they respected the older gentleman seated in front of them.

I love that the Pizza Factory is a sponsor and I had no clue THEY were the pizza served around the concourse!!! I grew up in the town they originated in and went to the original all the time.

The game went pretty well for the first period but then in the second things went south and then kept going south.

It was 5-2 in the 3rd period and they were not going to comeback.

IMG_20250514_212338.jpg

They played hard but not hard enough and lost 5-2.

Today I will get the boys to school as long as R is feeling better, my harness delivers this morning!!!!! I'll get the printer going, lounge in my harness on the deck a bit to fit it, haul more brush to the burn pile, get the boys after their last STEM club this afternoon, then will get the trailer hooked up for a grain run tomorrow morning.

Awesome how the garlic is taken off 200 up to 1000 now, it’s very prolific!👍😊
Looks like the rain has helping everything grow!😊
