Most Crowded SKI Day at 49N EVER - Saturday
Up early as normal I was watching the summit cam yesterday morning on the mountain seeing how much snow looked to be awaiting.

Turned out a bluebird day and it was in the mid 20sF.

On the road a little after 8am and after stopping for gas we could see the mountains glowing white in the morning sun.

Holy shit lines! There was a line to get parked, then insane long lines at any lift. J and I managed a double on #1 for our first ride up.

He and I headed straight for Dreamline which runs under the Sunrise lift. The trees to either side held nice 1+ft deep powder.

J and I rode the lift up and then dropped into Cy's. Cy's is a nice steep glade with deep powder and no other people. This was J's first black diamond and he really likes it.

At the intersection of trails there are a group of memorial trees and every year there are more and more attached to them. It was just a handful of largely veterans but now there are dozens of others as well.

I had gotten the text that R was ready to go to the top of the mountain so J and I headed to the lodge to find him. WTF!? The lines for 1 were INSANE!!!! I have never seen the line this long and THANK GOD #1 is a high speed quad now!

We got to the top of the mountain and then all 3 of us bombed down Huckleberry ridge.

The boys went down Big Bear which is a green and I went into the Left Wing. I was mobbing along through the kinda thin coverage when my left ski hit dead center this stump and I went straight over my ski tips.

I was laughing quite good as I picked myself up. Rare that I ever endo my skis so it was more fun than annoying.

Down the hill to the base of the basin and HOLY HELL!!!! WTF LINE!!!!!

The absolute longest line I have ever been in on a mountain near Spokane!!! We could see on the way to the top that EVERY lot was packed with cars and even the nordic lot was packed. I could not see the end of the cars parked along the road into the basin as well....

We managed a chair for just us then on the ride up and I was done with the people by this point. We headed to the top then J and R made the trip down to the lodge together while I did a high speed run. I tend to point my skis downhill, rest my elbows on my knees as I tuck and fly down the hill. No checking speed until the top of Queen/King then fast quick turns along the kids training slalom setup on King, then my high speed of the day point before dropping back to the lodge.

It gave me an extra run as I skied back to the car.
Not too bad of traffic on the way home and a nice sunny day for us.

Home in time to catch PDC matches and I got the printer going with another fabric tie, this time the largest size.
In bed by 8:30 and I actually managed 7 hrs of sleep last night! Amazing!!!

Today I am up normal time but feeling much more rested than most other days and am watching the PDC Poland matches. I have watercolors to catch up on, guitar practice, we want to go for a bike ride today, and then this is the week ahead... 50F today!? Welcome to Spring!
