Morning, Spider, Harvests, PT, ENGINE PROBLEM FOUND, Knee Chair, Niece's Game - Thursday
Sleep is a tool we all use, some of us seem to have dialed it in so succinctly that we no longer require the excess time for rejuvenation. Such seems to be my life. My body is attuned to this cycle rather closely and is having trouble deviating from the course.
I get to see the various times tick over as the sun gradually lights the sky to my left. One issue with sleep is my Garmin has a real problem tracking my sleep when my watch is on my left wrist instead of my right. I think the blood flows out of the heart to the left side first? Maybe the pressure difference between veins in the left and right arm cause the vast difference in sleep times...???
J was home sick again so I took R to school and on the way out the door I saw this spider on the screen. I'm thinking it was a male barn spider as small as it's body was.
Out in the garden I got the squash picked which had more than I was expecting.
Then the cucs and tomatoes gave a pretty standard amount for the time of year.
I got slid into a cancellation spot for PT this week where I wouldn't have had it. It was good and the muscle stim at the end is killer. Reminds me I need to use our setup a lot more often, especially the combo of electrical stim and ultrasound.
I was dreading it and managed to get myself into the task mentally. There wasn't a ton left to do it was just tedious. The air ratchet is a life back and shoulder savior. I had been waiting impatiently for my chair to arrive and it FINALLY did.
This is SO MUCH BETTER than my office chair. The knee chair makes it VERY difficult to slouch forwards and it forces me to sit with proper posture. It raises and lowers and it rolls under my desk nice and easy. It has totally changed my time at my computer now, though it is taking a bit of adjustment due to the constant angle of the seat. I can't recommend this enough for anyone who spends time at the computer.
I got the timing cover off right as @stryeyz got home and she was the one to first see the REAL PROBLEM... There is a hole that the chain wore in the metal just at the base of the bolt in the top middle of the pic. See that little hole? THAT'S why the lower rpm couldn't keep oil pressure up. So I ordered a new one on Amazon since the only ones around town were 3x to 10x as expensive and had to be ordered anyway. It will be here Saturday.
The nieces had their Varsity VB game which was streamed so we could watch them play in North Dakota. My MIL is in the red on the top right of the bleachers. The girls kicked ass and won in 3 straight. Quite nice to be able to watch now since we missed SO MANY of the other girls' games over the years.
Out to soak for a middling time. My damn shoulder is just trash and I have to seriously abuse it with the Theracane to get a bit of relief.
Up at 4am per my norm this morn. Today the boys both go to school first thing, PDC will be on, I will clean in the shed since I can't work on the truck, will work in gardens, hook up the trailer later for a grain run tomorrow morning, and roam the farm for any ripe berries or rose hips.

You really packed a lot into your day.
I honestly admire how you balance those little wins in the garden, the PT progress, and even spotting that cute spider, with the bigger stuff like the truck repair and cheering on the nieces’ game.
That new chair sounds like a game changer too.
I can't sit still for too long, there is far too much to do around the farm. I have so many setbacks that I have learned to celebrate the little wins, it helps keep my mental state moderated.
Yeah, that makes sense.
The little wins really do add up, especially when there’s always something that needs doing.
Have a good one. <3
It’s hard to tell…. Is that hole actually in the oil pump?
Glad you found the problem, my friend!👍😊
Yep, cut right through the metal.
Wow……🙄
Very good find my friend!💪😊
