IT LIVES!, Early, PDC, Harvests, Bi-Planes, Oil Pump, Engine Reassembly, Test Drives, Dinner, Spider - Saturday
Not sure why my brain is so attracted to the 4:04 but it keeps making me see it morning after morning. Yesterday was no exception and my getting a pic of it generally means I have been up for a bit already.
PDC was on and I was astonished to see RVB win his match, his form has been off the past months.
THANK GOD USPS DELIVERS EARLY! My oil pump was the only thing in the mailbox but it was here before 9am!
I had to go to the garden first though and get the harvests done. This bee was all up in this squash flower.
I was in the greenhouse picking and heard the unmistakable sound of the bi-planes again so ran out to get some shots. A couple of these are pretty good I think.
I got a consistent haul from the cucs and tomatoes.
Then it was time. The new oil pump got installed on the timing cover and I used the original bolts since the ones that came with the new pump are 8mm and not as strong looking.
That's when I realized I needed RTV to seal the timing cover so off to North 40 I went for a couple tubes. One extra in case I have to go back in at some point.
RTV applied. This time I was smart! I fit the cover before putting the RTV on so the pump would slide over the end of the crank properly and get less RTV all over the place.
Parts going on.
It was a bit hot in the sun but I kept at it and by 2pm I had it back together.
It was 2:45 when I started it up and it ran almost perfectly. No codes, no fault lights, just a throaty sounding exhaust and a purring engine.
As @stryeyz and I stood listening to it run I noticed the birds in the top of the tree.
The sled got moved back over to its spot out of the way.
I had taken the truck out for a test drive across the highway and up the nice windy hilly road where I mobbed it pretty good and did a 5 mile circle coming back up the gravel road. I tossed it into 4 hi and blasted down the straight away. Back in the yard I put into both 4 low and hi to test and everything seemed good. So I hooked it up to the trailer for the grain run I have done this morning. First time in 7 months.
Lazy and in celebration we went up to eat at Backroads.
LOOK AT THAT! MY TRUCK IN THE WILD!!!!
Out to soak I noticed this spider web on the a/c unit by where we hang our robes. Quite the complex it has with multiple floors and a wild funnel that it lives in.
Soaking was good but I was out for bed after an hour.
Almost didn't go to town for grain as when I got on the highway codes blew up so back to the house I came, plugged in and cleared the codes. I left the OBD plugged in and my computer on the passenger seat for the trip to town in case it blew codes again I could clear them.... But it managed just fine. I won my bet on the Canelo fight, 1000 sats richer.
Will get the grain unloaded in a bit, rain is inbound today, Utd play, PDC finals is on, then we are going to the fair and the destruction derby this afternoon.

The truck is back!🤗👍😊
Sounds like you need some downtime to relax and soak those sore muscles in the hot tub. Have a great Sunday, my friend!😊
