Home Depot, DOH!, 31.35 Mile/50K Bike Ride, Flowers and Blooms - Monday
I was at the tool shed when I noticed a mass of bees around the garden shed. I walked up to see a number in the hive, though they are all likely just robbers and not a hive that took up residence. Debating closing it off to not allow the robbing.

I measured a few times and I would have been able to fir the door in the sled but as I stood at Home Depot browsing I realized I needed to get the 6" and not 4" depth. I bought the supplies and headed out to the car where I found I was an inch off from it fitting. So I had to have @stryeyz come over with her car so it is sitting in there until I install this afternoon.

Back home I got ready and was out on the road by 11am. Hardly any traffic on the back roads and I got in some climbs. It was warm but I felt pretty strong so ended up going past the Deer Park airport which I haven't been on those roads.

Ended up heading north to Eloika Lake road which was the high point of the ride. I tend to NOT ride the road as the hills are long from the lake output to where I hooked in. Downhill was fine as I am going faster and the vehicles were able to pass okay.

Nearing home I was close to a 50K so made sure to get it and hit 2 hours exactly. This was my third 50k+ ride in a row... One hell of a step up from where I started just a few months ago! 12 days until my 50 mile ride.
Out checking on the garden I saw our apple tree is exploding in blooms. This should be a very appley late summer.

By the highway there is a tree that has daffodils and tulips that grow. I noticed the tulips about to bloom the other day so made a pass by again and popped them out for @stryeyz. Really cool how they are all different colors.

After I got dinner made and we ate we went out to soak for a bit. I ended up getting another job which is scheduled for Saturday afternoon and is freeing an attic access and adding hinges and likely a latch to it.

This is a super busy week with jobs everyday now. Today I have my session this morning, @stryeyz leaves for a trip to Seattle, boys have school, then at Noon I go to remove a door and frame and install the prehung one I bought. Wednesday I have a session in the morning then work for Michelle getting her planter boxes built before J's track meet that afternoon. Thursday I have the start of the gate install which I will finish Friday, then Saturday the attic job.

I’m sure they jacked the price up for the 6 inch door compared to the 4 inch!🙄😇
I put a couple doors in 6 inch walls where I just added an extra 1x6 full size jam board, and went ahead and used the 4 inch prehung door😇
I was wrong and needed the 4 inch. Thankfully Home Depot is great on returns and the 4" was $90 cheaper. They are very happy with the new door and I learned a bit in the process. Bid job so that covered my time on the return and got a door and storm door out of it. Their old door has an xl dog door in it. That alone is like $70 so I came out ahead.
I kind of surprise myself sometimes with what I am able to do. One thing to do it for my own house but there is a different level when doing for someone else that needs to be cleaner and more professional looking.
Sounds like it worked out very well in the end my friend!!👍😀
You're so correct it's so different doing something for someone else, than for yourself!!😇
Bees on a hive door? Closing that before it turns into a snack bar."
