Harvests, Spuds, Slug, Engine Work, Sunset, Bee - Saturday
It's been a lot easier to deal with the squash this year only having the two rows to worry about. We still have a bunch in the cooler as we can only go through it so fast.
The tomatoes are starting to turn faster now and I'm getting pounds at a time instead of a single or pair.
Out digging potatoes I pulled the plastic aside to see this monster slug stretched out in slow movement. It got a flight over the fence into the sheep pen free of charge.
Another 40 pounds of potatoes dug with likely many more still in the ground beneath the marigolds.
Washed and drying on the deck I bagged most of them a bit later in the day.
Back working on the engine I got more parts off and then finally drained the fluids again.
I've decided to remove the exhaust this time and I was under the truck trying to get it to bust loose and tweaked my back and shoulder. I managed to get all 4 bolts/nuts off and will have them removed today. It will make getting the plate unbolted in the bell housing much easier now the starter can come out.
Walking back to the house from somewhere on the farm I saw this spider web under the pergola and it had a huge collection of tree debris all around it. The recent winds seem to have filled it up.
The boys wanted to make sliders for dinner and they did a great job on them.
Went for a hike up the hill to see the sunset which was pretty amazing looking.
The clouds had a really cool look to them.
The north winds meant there wasn't quite as much smoke in the air so the sunset was more orange than red.
R was having fun dancing around the stumps I have in the ground still.
J yelled from his room as they were heading for bed and I walked in to see the bumble bee on the floor. Poor thing was totally lost so I picked it up and took it outside.
Got a soak in before bed.
This morning I will be working on the truck after the harvests are done, Man Utd play in bit, then this afternoon we are heading up to our friend's for a while.

I didn’t know you had slugs on the eastern side, they are everywhere!🙄
I thought that slug was a fat snake for a second! Very nice sunset photos!
