Harvests, Digging Potatoes, 3DP Knives, Wing, Engine, Company - Monday
I make sure to get out in the garden earlier to pick since everything is still cool, full of water from the drip irrigation that runs each morning, and it's not sweltering in the sun. Yesterday I got a moderate 6 pounds of summer squash put in the cooler.
Found a nifty design for a utility blade so printed out a set to try. This one I put a straight blade in and it works really well. A dot of Hoppes oil on the rails and it slides very nicely.
I'm trying to pick the cucumbers before they get massive, I feel they taste a bit better at a slightly smaller size.
The potatoes needed digging so I went and finished the row I had worked on the prior day. 17 pounds from about 10 feet of row.
My clothes went on the line to dry after washing. The morning sun made them dry quite quickly.
The spuds get washed on the deck as the basket makes it easy to get them washed from the sides. I shake the basket as I rinse to get them to rotate and get washed better.
Laid out on the cardboard to dry in the sun before getting sorted to boxes.
I remembered I have linoleum blades so I printed up a couple more blade holders.
Now I have killer hook knives. They slide easily but are held open or closed by tits on the slider. I am going to get a big pack of the blades so I can print a bunch of these to hand out to any paraglider pilots who may not have a hook knife.
I hauled my wing out to fold it so it packs smaller for my hike and fly tomorrow morning.
Back in the garden in the afternoon digging more potatoes and managed 21 pounds in the basket. They got washed and laid out to dry on the deck.
Back to work on the truck a little bit in the evening I managed to get the 2 bolts loosened on the engine mounts so I don't have much left to get the thing out. Today's goal...
Our friend and a pair of her kids came over for the afternoon. First T was here then after A's appointment they came by and stayed for dinner.
Dumb skin.
Today I will get the harvesting done early then I will be working on the truck. I will pull out my pod harness and see if my idea of a seat plate will work, try to get the mesh nodes all working correctly, get the garlic seed to the cooler to begin stratifying, have the printer going on more knives already, and will have J push the mower around the farm some.
