Harvests, Cloudy Cool, Engine Troubleshooting, Melons, Squash, School Open House, Birds - Tuesday
It was REALLY nice that the forecast was wrong yesterday. 99F was NOT sounding good but thankfully the clouds moved over and most all day was much nicer. Still got up to the 80s but was far more tolerable to be out in.
I'm taking the summer squash when they are still rather small. I'd rather them slim and tender than fat and hard.
The cucumbers and tomatoes are doing really consistent numbers but we need to figure out what to do with the cucs as some are going bad from sitting too long.
There was more showing on the Windy radar but we had a couple cells move past but the rain largely evaporated before hitting the ground. The clouds kept the air quite nice until much later than normal.
It seems that the trouble codes for the igniters/plugs likely will clear once I can get the truck driven around. But that is going to require my redoing the timing it appears.
I was trying NOT to break into it again but to check the timing I had to. I DID realize a MUCH MUCH easier method of getting the fan and shroud out so that is one benefit.
♫I like fat squash and I can not lie!♫
Nice sized pumpkin... except it's green... Silly crossbreed.
7 to 8 pound watermelons which is great as they normally haven't grown on the farm.
The lid is off again and I am going to have to try and do the timing without taking the front cover off....
Open house at the schools which was a mad house at both. Less so for R but J's was crazy. He's a middle schooler now.
And has his first locker. It was funny in the hallway watching everyone trying to learn how to open the locks.
The young birds somehow found their way under the brooder. Little asshats made me use the net to drag them out so I could take them to the coop. They'll figure it out sooner or later, preferably sooner...
Not the greatest morning so far given my asshole brain woke me at 3am and wouldn't turn off again... First day of school for the boys today, I've got to get labs done this morning, dig more spuds, work on the truck, J has cross country practice after school, and the tool shed needs serious cleaning as I can hardly walk through it right now.

Glad it was a bit cooler today that sounds more tolerable!😅
Hopefully the timing won’t be too involved teardown wise……🙄
Is that a book by you as you fix things in the car? Makes it seem really serious if that’s a book!
Good luck juggling everything together. It doesn’t seem easy even from this end.

@hopestylist here!
I have printed out most all the pertinent parts of the factory service manual so that is the stack of it. Couldn't do this without it, that's for sure
That’s a good idea actually.
